3, record 2, Spanish, - C%C3%B3digo%20de%20Nuremberg

The doctor-patient relationship has usually been considered voluntary. The Code of ethics of the C. M. A. [Canadian Medical Association] states that a physician has the right to refuse a patient, except on the basis of color, religion or political belief. However, the Code further provides that the right of refusal does not exist in an emergency and that a physician should render all assistance possible where an urgent need for medical care exists. 3, record 5, English, - right%20to%20refuse%20a%20patient

In 1994, the Presidents of the Medical Research Council of Canada(MRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada(NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada(SSHRC), collectively appointed a multi-disciplinary working group(the Tri-Council Working Group) and gave it the mandate to develop new policies and regulations to replace the Councils’ existing guidelines for research involving humans. The "Code of Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans"(the Code) is the result of that process and supersedes both the MRC "Guidelines on Research Involving Human Subjects" 1977 and the 1987 SSHRC "Ethics Guidelines for Research with Human Subjects". This Code complements the 1990 MRC "Guidelines for Research on Somatic Cell Gene Therapy in Humans". 1, record 7, English, - Code%20of%20Ethical%20Conduct%20for%20Research%20Involving%20Humans
