Countries may be able and willing to regard a Codex Standard as the presumptive standard in cases where there is no corresponding standard, code of practice or other accepted expression of the "nature, substance or quality" of the food. A country need not apply the presumption to all the provisions of the standard if the details of its additives, contaminants, hygiene or labelling rules are different from those in the standard. The International Credit Insurance & Surety Association(ICISA) provides a forum for the continuous exchange of ideas and information, in order to improve and develop the specialised service its members give the business world. This includes the exchange of views and experience about trading conditions and developments in particular industrial and trade sectors as well as as markets, the exchange of information about credit risks and co-operation through reinsurance arrangements, particularly in export transactions. ICISA was established in Paris in 1928 as the International Credit Insurance Association(ICIA) In 2001 the name was changed to the International Credit Insurance & Surety Association, to reflect the fact that more than half of its members were by then(also) involved in the underwriting of surety business. ICISA commemorated its 75th anniversary in 2003. From its inception until 1999, the Association was based in Switzerland, where it is still registered under Swiss Civil Code. From 1999 until 2003 the head office of the Association was based in London, where it shared it's premises with the Berne Union. In July of 2003 the Association moved to Amsterdam. 1, record 22, English, - International%20Credit%20Insurance%20%26%20Surety%20Association

... successive editions of the Code have been published as the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, commonly abbreviated as ICBN. In Melbourne, reflecting the view, particularly amongst mycologists, that the word “Botanical” was misleading and could imply that the Code covered only green plants and excluded fungi and diverse algal lineages, it was agreed that the name be changed to International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants. In referring to the Code under its new title, we will use the abbreviation ICN. 1, record 28, English, - International%20Code%20of%20Nomenclature%20for%20algae%2C%20fungi%2C%20and%20plants

Even the first British attempt to set down Hindu Law was "The Gentoo Code" of 1776. Gentoo was a 17th and 18th Century Anglicism for genito, Portuguese for heathen. Although "Hindu" for India or an Indian is considered archaic in English, some languages(for example, French) have continued the old usage of the word. The World Customs Organization, established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council, is an independent intergovernmental body with world-wide membership whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs administrations... In 1994, the Council adopted the informal working name "World Customs Organization"(WCO) for the Customs Co-operation Council, in order to give a clearer indication of the nature and world-wide status of the Organization. The WCO has two official languages, English and French. However, Spanish is also used for Customs Valuation matters arising from the GATT/WTO Valuation Code. Spanish and Russian are used for the Customs Convention on Containers, 1972. Recently, Spanish was introduced as official language of the technical Committee of Rules of Origin. 3, record 39, English, - World%20Customs%20Organization

Many enzymes, especially the more common ones, are known by short trivial names that usually end in the suffix-ase. However, this can lead to confusion, hence the use of a specific name according to the rules of the international enzyme classification system is preferable. This system provides both a systematic name and a four-part classification number. The first number of the code places the enzyme into one of six groups, indicating the type of reaction involved. The next two numbers indicate the groups involved in the reaction and the fourth number provides the absolute identification of the enzyme. 2, record 43, English, - classification%20number

An airport located 55 km from downtown Montréal, officially inaugurated in 1975, and intended to become Montréal' s main airport. Initially named "Mirabel International Airport, "it was later designated "Montréal Airport in Mirabel"(Montréal-Mirabel) when chosen for international flights while the "Montréal Airport in Dorval"(Montréal-Dorval) was limited to domestic flights, that is flights inside Canada. But inadequate terrestrial links between Montréal and Mirabel contributed to give to the Montréal Airport in Dorval, named the "Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport"(Montréal-Trudeau) since January 1, 2004, its international status, leaving the charter(up to Autumn 2004) and cargo flights to the Mirabel Airport(the most common designation for the airport). Even if the airport encountered many status changes, it never had a name that includes a comma, and had always been represented by YMX, its IATA three-letter code. 1, record 55, English, - Mirabel%20International%20Airport

An airport located in Dorval, now a part of the city of Montréal, and used for private, local, national and international flights. The airport was first the "Dorval Airport, "from the name of the city in the suburbs of Montréal, then the "Dorval International Airport, "to become the airport for domestic flights, that is the flights limited to Canada, with the construction of the "Mirabel International Airport" inaugurated in 1975 and intended for international flights. But inadequate terrestrial links between Montréal and Mirabel contributed to give to the Montréal Dorval Airport("Montréal-Dorval") its international status, leaving the charter(up to Autumn 2004) and cargo flights to the Mirabel Airport("Montréal-Mirabel") ;political decisions for these ends were accompanied by important subsidies for the building of added accommodations to what has become the "Montréal Dorval International Airport. "With the amalgamation or merging of all the cities on the Île de Montréal, including the former cities of Montréal and of Dorval, to form the new city of Montréal on the 1 January 2002, the airport became the "Montréal Airport, "a reality usage had already confirmed. On the 1 January 2004, the airport's name changed to "Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport" to honour a former Prime Minister of Canada as do other important airports in the country. The official name will, no doubt, not be quoted at length all the time; the forms mentioned as correct on the present record will surely be used instead, including the recommendation of the airport authority as to the use of "Montréal-Trudeau" as the current short form("fly from Montréal-Trudeau", or "land at the Montréal-Trudeau Airport"). Even if the airport encountered many name and status changes, it never had a name that includes a comma, and had always been represented by YUL, its IATA three-letter code. 3, record 56, English, - Montr%C3%A9al%20Pierre%20Elliott%20Trudeau%20International%20Airport

The Montréal Dorval International Airport has been officially renamed "Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport," written "Montréal - Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport" (a dash with a space before and after) in some governmental documents, during a ceremony held on September 9, 2003. The new name is effective starting January 1, 2004. Pierre Elliott Trudeau, of the Liberal Party, has been Prime Minister of Canada from April 20, 1968 to June 3, 1979, and from March 3, 1980 to June 29, 1984; he died in Montréal on September 28, 2000. 3, record 56, English, - Montr%C3%A9al%20Pierre%20Elliott%20Trudeau%20International%20Airport

In the legend, it is mentioned that the administrator, Aéroports de Montréal, recommends the use of "Montréal-Trudeau" as a current short form and that the code identifying the airport will remain YUL, the code of the International Air Transport Association(IATA) being international and the same in all languages. 3, record 56, English, - Montr%C3%A9al%20Pierre%20Elliott%20Trudeau%20International%20Airport

The Government of Canada English document on Internet cannot be quoted as a source because the name of the city is reproduced without its accent on all the pages found, while the Internet source of the airport administrator gives it correctly. In Canada (with seven exceptions as of December 31, 2004, and "Montréal" is not among them), the name of an inhabited place has the same form in English and French, which form is listed in the Gazetteer of the province or territory in accordance with the inscription in the Incorporation Act of the entity. 3, record 56, English, - Montr%C3%A9al%20Pierre%20Elliott%20Trudeau%20International%20Airport

Note that while a housing code does exist in the United States, Canada does not have a housing code per se. Our "housing code" consists of a combination of federal, provincial and municipal legislation. All housing must meet the requirements set down by the National Building Code as well as the provincial building codes. Most municipalities have passed some type of by-law regulating the standards for maintenance and occupancy of property(the specific name of the by-law varies from municipality to municipality--some of the most common designations being "property standards by-law", "maintenance and occupancy by-law" and "minimum standards by-law". Essentially, the legislation sets minimum standards for plumbing, heating, lighting, ventilation, structural soundness, occupancy and maintenance responsibilities of occupants in order to ensure that dwellings remain fit for human habitation. 1, record 66, English, - housing%20code

3, record 66, French, - code%20du%20logement

The use of call letters is almost as old as radio itself. As all early radio work was done in telegraphic code, spelling out an operator's name or location was unworkable or cumbersome. Under international agreement, prefixes have been assigned to various nations... In Canada call letters begin with "C", in the eastern states "W", while "K" call letters are generally assigned to stations in states west of the Mississippi. 2, record 68, English, - call%20letters
