Hot bitumen is a common adhesive. It has traditionally been used to bond felt plies together to make the built-up roof membrane, to serve as the waterproofing agent in the membrane and to bond the membrane and other components in the roof system together. Bitumens are also available which are designed to be applied cold. 2, record 1, English, - hot%20bitumen

3, record 1, French, - bitume%20chaud

Cold-applied liquid compounds. This category of material comprises a number of different products in the market. They consist of emulsions and solutions of (a) various resins or elastomers such as polyurethanes, silicones, acrylics, etc., and (b) bitumens and modified bitumens. The material left after the evaporation of volatiles (water or organic solvents) forms the waterproofing layer. Their surface coatings may contain white pigment or aluminum flakes or they may be vinyl films for protection from solar radiation. These liquids are generally applied by spraying or with rollers. The emulsions cure slowly at low temperatures and they cannot be applied below water’s freezing temperature. 3, record 2, English, - cold%20process%20adhesive

4, record 2, French, - adh%C3%A9sif%20pour%20application%20%C3%A0%20froid

Glue-applied labels are preprinted on paper, foil or plastic(polystyrene, polypropylene or polyethylene) stocks without adhesive. Hot-melt or cold wet glue-depending on label stock and container substrate-is purchased, mixed and, if necessary, heated at the packaging plant to be applied onto the label just before it is placed on the container. 1, record 3, English, - glue%2Dapplied%20label
