Several and concurrent ownership must... be distinguished. The owner of an interest in land may be entitled to possession either alone or in conjunction with other persons, and in both cases he may be entitled to take possession either now or at some time in the future. If he is entitled in his own right without having any other person joined with him in point of interest, he is said to hold in severalty; but where he and other persons have simultaneous interests in the land, they are said to hold concurrently, or in co-ownership, and to have concurrent interests. In other words, land may be the subject of several, that is, separate ownership, or of co-ownership.(Cheshire, 12th, p. 210) 1, record 2, English, - several%20ownership

Although in the case of personalty... there may be either a legal joint tenancy or a legal tenancy in common, a trust may, of course, be created(even orally) by the donor of personalty to one or more persons for concurrent interests.... In such cases, where the trustees hold as legal joint tenants in trust for persons entitled in common in equity, the "jus accrescendi" will, of course, operate with respect to the legal interest upon the death of one of the trustees.(Crossley Vaines, 5th ed., 1973, p. 57). 1, record 3, English, - joint%20tenancy%20at%20law
