When superheated steam expands in a turbine it drops in pressure, loses its superheat, and becomes wet... Consequently, this steam is led out of the turbine after it has passed through the early high-pressure stages. It is then piped back to a reheater, a device similar in design and placement to a superheater, where it is reheated to approximately the original superheat temperature. From the reheater, the steam enters the turbine at a succeeding stage and passes through the remainder of the turbine. Amine Sweetening Process... Rich amine is heated by hot regenerated lean amine in the heat exchanger. Rich amine is then further heated in the regeneration still column, by heat supplied from the reboiler. The steam rising through the still liberates H₂S and CO₂ and therefore regenerates the amine. So what is the difference between a non-condensing and condensing engine? A "condensing" steam engine does not exhaust its piped steam. Instead the spent steam is piped into a devise whcih, like a car radiator, cools the steam turning it back in to liquid water (cooling and condensing the steam). That still very hot wtaer is pumped back into the boilers where it is reheated and reused. Since the returning water is still very hot it requires less heat to bring it back up to boiling temperature.
