First meeting was held in 1992, in Ottawa. Concept was based on U.S. Plant Board model and was called the National Plant Protection Advisory Board. The name was changed to National Plant Protection Advisory Committee in 1995. Real start of the Committee was in 1995. 1998 Motion: A name change was proposed. Change National Plant Protection Advisory Committee to Canadian Plant Protection Advisory Committee. New name would better reflect the purpose of the committee and give more credibility when meeting at the international level. It will convey the fact that the committee represents all of Canada’s commodities. Vote: Name change was accepted by all present. 1, record 1, English, - Canadian%20Plant%20Protection%20Advisory%20Committee

1, record 1, French, - Comit%C3%A9%20consultatif%20canadien%20pour%20la%20protection%20des%20v%C3%A9g%C3%A9taux
