The performance of all the Voyager Workstations is improved by addition of our proprietary Delayed Extraction(DE) technology. By introducing a time delay between ionization of the sample and extraction of the ion from the source, adduct ions can be separated from the ion of interest prior to entry into the flight tube. This is especially important for analysis of oligonucleotides and glycoproteins, which tend to bind to matrix molecules. The effect is a reduction in chemical noise. Higher signal-to-noise ratios are achieved along with greatly improved resolution.

The ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation has a rich and interesting history. It began in 1935, when the mandate of the ministère des Affaires municipales was broadened to include industry and trade, two sectors of increasing importance to the government. In 1943, the ministère de l'Industrie et du Commerce was founded. Over the years, other mandates were grafted onto its mission :technology in 1988, science in 1994, and external trade in 1996. In 1998, the science and technology mandates were entrusted to the ministère de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, which, in its early days, was charged with devising a scientific policy to bring about a new convergence between universities, industry and government. In 1998, the ministère des Régions was created as a successor to the Secrétariat au développement des régions in order to implement the new policy to support local and regional development, with a view to promoting and assisting the development of the regions and ensuring consistent government action. On April 29, 2003, the Premier announced the creation of the ministère du Développement économique et régional(MDER) out of these four entities. The purpose of the merger was to improve intervention targeting regional businesses and stakeholders by simplifying it and making it more coherent and efficient. In April 2004, "Recherche" was added to the MDER's name. In February 2005, the MDERR was divided into three departments : the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation; the ministère du Tourisme; and the ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions.

ELADA 21 is a software program that was developed as an inexpensive approach for accessing the information in Agenda 21, the action plan developed by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development at its 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. A project of the International Development Research Centre(IDRC), the Canadian Centre for Remote Sensing(CCRS), and private industry(LMSoft and the Canadian Biodiversity Informatics Consortium), ELADA 21 uses multimedia and geomatics technology to process information in Agenda 21 at regional, national and global scales, and will make possible the assessment of environmental changes.

C'est le fruit des efforts concertés du Centre canadien de recherches pour le développement international (CRDI), du Centre canadien de télédétection (CCT) et du secteur privé (LMSoft et le Canadian Biodiversity Informatics Consortium). ELADA 21 emploie les technologies du multimédia et de la géomatique pour traiter l'information contenue dans Action 21 à différentes échelles (régionale, nationale et mondiale) et rend possible l'évaluation des changements environnementaux.
