As for any other behaviour, behaviour analysis approaches verbal behaviour functionally. Therefore, the study of verbal behaviour examines first and foremost the conditions under which verbal responses are produced and their effects, rather than their form(e. g. vocal or written responses) or their structure(e. g. grammatical classification). Therefore, gestures, sign language, images or symbols selection and writing can all be used and taught to communicate and may fully satisfy the definition of verbal behaviour in the same way as vocal language. 3, record 1, English, - verbal%20behaviour

The term “case-control study” is often, incorrectly, considered a synonym of “retrospective study.” Although, in both cases, it is necessary to look into the past for the chain of events, the term “retrospective study” does not necessarily include the element of comparison of two or more groups defined at the start of the study, an element that characterizes case-control studies. L’expression étude cas/témoin est souvent considérée à tort comme synonyme d’étude rétrospective. Même si dans les deux cas, on doit faire un retour dans le passé pour remonter le cours des événements, l’expression étude rétrospective ne comporte pas nécessairement l’élément de comparaison entre deux ou plusieurs groupes définis au début de l’étude, élément qui caractérise l’étude cas/témoins. Le qualificatif «rétrospectif» indique simplement l’orientation temporelle de l’étude. 1, record 19, French, - %C3%A9tude%20cas%2Ft%C3%A9moins
Record number: 19, Textual support number: 3 OBS
1, record 19, French, - %C3%A9tude%20cas%2Ft%C3%A9moins

Basically, transliteracy is concerned with what it means to be literate in the 21st century. It analyzes the relationship between people and technology, most specifically social networking, but is fluid enough to not be tied to any particular technology. It focuses more on the social uses of technology, whatever that technology may be. This terminology is new and the study of transliteracy is in the early stages, so this definition is likely to evolve. 3, record 43, English, - transliteracy

... the magnetic-force microscope(MFM), enables us to look at the actual performance of such heads-the definition, uniformity and strength of the magnetic field they produce. In place of the tungsten or silicon needle, the MFM has a magnetized nickel on probe. When the vibrating probe is brought near a magnetic sample, the tip feels a force that changes its resonance frequency and hence its vibration amplitude. The MFM can trace the magnetic-field pattern emanating from data-recording heads at a resolution of better than 25 nanometers. The device can also study the structure of the magnetic bits that store data on disks and other media, giving insight into both head performance and the quality of the storage medium. 3, record 47, English, - magnetic%2Dforce%20microscope
