The definition of luminance is the visual effect of the radiance and is commonly used in measuring the relative brightness of various sources. Therefore, we can refer to the relative luminous efficiency curve for normal photopic vision, and the luminance of LED panel can be calculated. For normal visual effect, at the peak sensitivity of the eye(555 nm) one watt of radiant energy equals 680 lumens(lm) by definition. The watt is a radiometric unit whereas the lumen is a photometric unit. At any other wavelength, this conversion is scaled by a value of the relative luminous efficiency at that wavelength. 1, record 9, English, - relative%20luminous%20efficiency%20curve

2, record 9, French, - courbe%20d%27efficacit%C3%A9%20lumineuse%20relative%20spectrale

A statistical characteristic of the usual content of a substance in soils. 1, record 35, English, - usual%20background%20value
Record number: 35, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The variability of the natural pedo-geochemical content and of the usual content often increases with the size of the portion of the soil mantle investigated. So it is recommended to assess the natural pedo-geochemical value and the usual value at a spatial scale similar to those that it will be used for. For instance, if the natural pedo-geochemical value or the usual value is used to evaluate soil contamination at a local scale, i.e. agricultural plot, contaminated site, watershed, it is necessary to refer to the natural pedo-geochemical value or the usual value that has been determined at the same scale. 1, record 35, English, - usual%20background%20value

As presented here, the background contents are concentrations, e.g. mass of substance for a mass unit of soil. It can be useful to determine the stocks of substances in soil, as a mass of substance for a definite volume or area of soil. To this end, the bulk density of each soil horizon (or layer) and its thickness have to be taken into account. 1, record 35, English, - usual%20background%20value

1, record 35, French, - valeur%20de%20fond%20habituelle

The minimum sample size is estimated using a formula taking into account different factors. One of these factors is the variability that is accepted to be caused by the differences between individual particles. When a large amount of variability is chosen for this factor, there will no longer be a "negligible effect" as mentioned in the definition. The word "encumbrance" is not a technical term. Rather, it is a general expression and must be interpreted in the context in which it is found. It has a broad meaning and may include many disparate claims, charges, liens or burdens on land. It has been defined as "every right to or interest in land granted to the diminution of the value of the land but consistent with the passing of the fee". Even this definition, broad as it is, is not comprehensive enough to cover all possible encumbrances...(Anger and Honsberger, 2nd, p. 1685) 1, record 40, English, - encumbrance

In the past there has been much confusion between the "distribution ratio" as defined above, the value of which varies with experimental conditions,... and the "true partition coefficient" which is by definition invariable or the "partition coefficient" or "distribution constant" which apply to a particular chemical species under specified conditions. For this reason the terms "distribution constant, ""partition constant, ""partition coefficient, ""partition ratio" and "extraction constant" should not be used in this context. 1, record 47, English, - distribution%20ratio

The speed of light in a vacuum is an important physical constant denoted by the letter c for "constant" or the Latin word "celeritas" meaning "swiftness". It is the speed of all electromagnetic radiations, including visible light, in a vacuum. More generally, it is the speed of anything having zero rest mass.... In metric units, the speed of light is exactly 299, 792, 458 metres per second(1, 079, 252, 848. 8 km/h). The fundamental SI unit of length, the metre, has been defined since October 21, 1983, as the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299, 792, 458 of a second; any increase in the precision of the measurement of the speed of light would refine the definition of the metre, but not alter the numerical value of c. The approximate value of 3x108 m/s is commonly used in rough estimates. In imperial units, the speed of light is about 670, 616, 629. 2 miles per hour or 983, 571, 056 feet per second, which is about 186, 282, 397 miles per second, or roughly one foot per nanosecond. The speed of light when it passes through a transparent or translucent material medium, like glass or air, is slower than its speed in a vacuum. The ratio of c to the observed phase velocity is called the refractive index of the medium. 5, record 56, English, - speed%20of%20light
