Determining the moisture content of grain is an operation of particular importance at all stages of the post-harvest system. Before the harvest, for example, it permits an estimation of the degree of maturity of the grain. After threshing, it is used for deciding on methods and durations of drying. Before processing of products, it shows whether the grain is in condition for treatment. At the time of marketing, it reveals the quantity of dry matter that is being bought, and thus permits establishment of the fair sales price(water does not have the same market value as grain). Before and during storage, it helps to determine warehousing conditions and to evaluate the state of conservation of grain. 2, record 5, English, - moisture%20determination

2, record 5, French, - d%C3%A9termination%20de%20la%20teneur%20en%20eau

Collective staffing is a collaborative activity to staff more than one position within, among and across organizations and departments, region or regions. It represents a strategic approach where managers agree on common merit criteria, on the definition of the merit criteria, and on the degree of skill required for each position. The process requires the establishment of pools of individuals who have had some degree of assessment completed in order to be included in the pool. These individuals will then be finally assessed against the merit criteria established for each position being staffed. 2, record 6, English, - collective%20staffing

2, record 6, French, - dotation%20collective

Exhausting includes the removal of air from the filled can and the establishment of conditions whereby the finished canned product will show a substantial degree of vacuum. This can be done by heating the filled can in steam or hot water for several minutes so that the air is driven out and the temperature of the contents is raised considerably. It can also be accomplished by a vacuum closing machine where the air is sucked out by a pump and the lid is sealed on while the suction is being maintained. 2, record 8, English, - exhausting
