One or more sequences of coloured rings, seen by an observer around his own shadow cast on a cloud consisting mainly of numerous small water droplets, on fog, or, very rarely, on dew. 2, record 1, English, - glory
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Glories are formed by backward scattering from cloud or mist droplets. They appear on mountains and hillsides when the sun breaks through mist and when there is an opportunity to look downwards towards the antisolar point. They are always exactly opposite the sun and their delicate coloured rings are centered on the observer's shadow. 3, record 1, English, - glory

2, record 1, French, - gloire
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 1, French, - gloire

This type of lace is made with a needle. It is considered to be the most delicate and precious of all laces. The pattern is first designed on paper, often reinforced with a piece of tissue, on which the design is realized. The design usually represents a rose or some other flower. To start, the lacemaker elaborates the flower's outline with a thicker thread, so to add relief to the work. The next stage is to fill in the interior of the flower design with much finer thread and a variety of different stitches. A fine handkerchief medallion takes three days’ work. To produce larger pieces, all the medallions are sewn together with a thread so fine that it can only be detected by the eye of an expert. 2, record 32, English, - rose%20point%20lace

1, record 32, French, - dentelle%20point%20de%20rose

The stalk reveals a delicate ring or an annulus-like zone.... As its name indicates, this Galerina is typically autumnal. You find it during cool, wet weather, especially in October.

Overflows... have been designed for delicate knitted and woven fabrics made of natural and synthetic fibres. They are also found in the carpet sector. The main difference between jet and overflow machines remains in the fact that in jet machines the fabric is transported by the bath flowing at high speed through the nozzle, while with overflows the fabric is transported by the gravitational force of the liquor overflow. A winch(usually not motor driven) is located in the upper part of the machine and the fabric hangs over it. A longer length of textile hangs from the exit side of the winch than from the inlet side. Gravitational forces pull the longer length of textile downward more strongly than the shorter. The fabric is therefore soaked in the bath without any tension(transportation is very gentle). 1, record 64, English, - overflow%20machine

Strictly speaking there is an important distinction to be made between a "touch shot" and a "finesse shot", terms quite often used synonymously. A "touch shot" requires a delicate "touch" of the hands to execute shots such as a "drop volley" or a "lob volley", whereas a "finesse shot" is simply any shot that has required much agility and nimbleness on the part of the player, e. g. backhand topspin lob. It was a way of life. It was the backbone of a society. And then the cod fishery off the east coast of Newfoundland collapsed. Taking stock traces the history leading up to the crisis and the calling for a moratorium of the northwest Atlantic cod fishery. It presents the key players in this complex and tragic story, focusing on those who are now trying to come to grips with an uncertain future. How did the calamity happen? What signals did we ignore? Did we chose the right model in setting up an industry? Ultimately, Taking Stock holds a message for the Canadian as well as the global community : In trying to attain economic success, we must recognize that there are limits to how far we can exploit nature's delicate ecosystems. "Long" is an informal expression used to indicate that a shot went out past the baseline. Important nuance: a "stroke" implies early preparation and a complete follow through. If one were to envision a stroke, one would see a series of sequences, ending with a "shot", i.e. the result of all of the above. Consequently, a "shot" is the result of the "stroke". "Shot" implies a quick, sharp movement because one is focusing on the end result, not the series of sequences leading up to it. A "blow" is rather an imprecise, general term similar in meaning to "shot". Although many would like to maintain these nuances in English, "shot" and "stroke" are often used synonymously. "Blow" is used only rarely. Note, however that although there are two possible equivalents ("coup" and "frappe") in French, neither are semantically identical to the English offerings. The Spanish term "pegada" works well as an equivalent for "shot", although technically the term more specifically refers to the actual hitting action caused by the racket coming in contact with the ball, and not to the end result [cause vs effect]. 2, record 81, English, - shot

Although a "chip shot" is usually shallow, forcing an opponent to move quickly forward to hit up on a low ball right into the waiting hands of the attacker, the term is not entirely synonymous with "dink". The latter is more generic in that it may refer to any shallow shot hit with much or very little spin. Moreover, it usually implies a certain degree of ruse and deception with the use of body language unlike the neutrality of the term "chip". Record number: 96, Textual support number: 1 CONT
A sound curling delivery requires accomplishment in four technical areas. Alignment, Timing, Balance, and Release. The delivery must be straight, the movements properly coordinated, the body in balance, and the release controlled and consistent. As each skill improves, so does accuracy. In addition to the technical aspects, a sound curling delivery requires a delicate "feel" for weight, and sound mental skills. 5, record 96, English, - delivery
Record number: 96, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The technical term is "delivery": it bears all the efficiency needed to position a rock on the intended target. The word "shot" is a more common term while "throw" and "stroke" express more force and vigour, or the action of a rock against another, than the conjugated strength and precision needed to place a rock on the targeted spot. 4, record 96, English, - delivery

4, record 96, French, - lancer

Finally, by using a burnishing tool, the thin emulsion layer containing the type image and coated with wax, is rubbed down thereby ensuring better adhesion. The same process may be done using negative stripping film and a map negative overlay. 3, record 97, English, - type%20affixing

4, record 97, French, - positionnement%20des%20%C3%A9critures
