3, record 2, French, - zone%20d%C3%A9sert%C3%A9e

SCISAT-1 is the first new Canadian scientific satellite since the ISIS-II mission in 1971.... The satellite will be carrying a customized Canadian-built Fourier Transform Spectrometer(ACE-FTS) as part of the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment(ACE) mission, which will run at least two years.(The feasibility of including a second scientific instrument, Measurements of Aerosol Extinction in the Stratosphere and Troposhere Retrieved by Occulation(MAESTRO), is being evaluated.) The ACE mission's goal is to take a variety of measurements in the Earth's stratosphere and troposhere to advance scientist's understanding of ozone depletion, particularly above Canada and the Arctic region. 2, record 3, English, - SCISAT%2D1%20satellite

The depletion of air in a layer or region of the atmosphere due to outflowing winds. 2, record 4, English, - divergence
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Simply stated, convergence is defined as the increase of mass within a given layer of the atmosphere, while divergence is the decrease of mass within a given layer of the atmosphere. ... Divergence. Winds in this situation produce a net flow of air outward from the layer. We associate this type of divergence with high-pressure cells, where the flow of air is directed outward from the center, causing a downward motion. Divergence, too, is classified as either horizontal or vertical. 3, record 4, English, - divergence
