1, record 1, Spanish, - desertizaci%C3%B3n

... a clear appreciation of the causes of peri-urban growth can only be obtained from a detailed understanding of the underlying demographic processes that affect population growth. In the case of the peri-urban region it is suggested that four key processes can be identified. These are: suburbanisation, counterurbanisation, population retention and centripetal migration. The roles and interactions between these four processes are the subject of a more detailed study currently in progress (Ford). 8, record 3, English, - centripetal%20migration

Depopulated Area Revitalization Plans. Twenty-two municipalities in Miyazaki are suffering from depopulation. These municipalities, accounting for 56% of Miyazaki Prefecture in terms of land area, and 14% in terms of population(as of 1998), are of strategic importance in seeking balanced development of the Prefecture. To improve social infrastructures, especially industrial and daily-life related infrastructures, in these depopulated areas, the Prefecture is promoting comprehensive revitalization plans, including development of various industries and urban-rural exchanges. 1, record 6, English, - depopulated%20area
