The Deposit Modeling Program(DMP) was initiated in 1983 to promote advanced techniques in mineral resource assessment and exploration with a view to assisting sustainability of developing countries.

OBS

The Deposit Modeling Program(DMP) is a joint program of the International Union of Geological Sciences(IUGS) and UNESCO. It seeks to advance geoscientific knowledge and expertise in mineral deposit modeling for use in exploration, assessment and development of resources, then facilitate the transfer of this knowledge and expertise to developing countries. The program also provides assistance for training and educating geoscientists from developing regions, so that they can carry out the necessary exploration and resource assessment in their home countries.

Le Programme de modélisation est un programme conjoint de l'Union internationale des sciences géologiques (UISG) et de l'UNESCO. Il vise à faire progresser les connaissances et l'expertise géoscientifiques en matière de modélisation des gisements de minéraux utilisées dans l'exploration, l'évaluation et le développement des ressources, et à faciliter le transfert des connaissances et de cette expertise dans les pays en développement. Le programme offre également une aide à la formation et à l'éducation des géoscientifiques provenant des régions en développement afin qu'ils puissent entreprendre l'exploration et l'évaluation des ressources nécessaires dans leur propre pays.
