The Canada-U. S. Relations Committee promotes dialogue, information sharing, and collaboration among state and provincial elected officials, as well as federal counterparts, to enhance cooperation on a variety of binational issues of mutual concern, including, but not limited to, agriculture, border crossings and border management, economic competitiveness, energy, health, security, trade, and transportation. The committee comprises state and provincial legislators from the 13 CSG East U. S. member jurisdictions and five Eastern Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Québec.

The Earth Sciences Sector(ESS) of Natural Resources Canada is committed to increasing its involvement in strengthening the capacity of developing countries. For decades, Canada has worked in partnership with developing countries in applying geomatics and geoscience technologies to address a wide variety of important economic, environmental and social issues. This effort has led to immproved capabilities of these countries to achieve sustainable development and better living conditions, while fostering long-term relationships between Canada and the developing world. To allow Canada and ESS to build on many successful technology transfer projects and to seek out new partnerships, ESS is launching a new initiative called The Earth Sciences International Capacity Development Centre. The Centre will facilitate dialogue and help identify benefits and opportunities, while providing a mechanism for effective cooperation amongst all stakeholders.

On 20 October 2005, the UNESCO General Conference approved the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Le Fonds canadien pour le dialogue et le développement encourage la prise de contact et la coopération sur des questions clés de développement, par le biais de séminaires, de conférences et d'ateliers. Le Fonds pour les services d'experts-aviseurs appuie la participation canadienne aux négociations multilatérales du processus de paix. Un nouveau projet permettra bientôt d'assurer une formation commune des trois parties principales du processus de paix en matière de gestion de l'eau. b) Liban : Un projet bilatéral appuie le gouvernement du Liban dans l'élaboration de stratégies et de politiques pour la réforme de l'administration publique. Un deuxième projet soutient la réforme de la fiscalité. Un autre projet permettra la création d'un collège professionnel et technique.
