Our Milky Way galaxy is shaped like two fried eggs glued back-to-back. A central bulge of stars sits in the middle of a sprawling disk of stars. Though this is a common feature among myriad spiral galaxies, astronomers have spent decades puzzling out how and when the Milky Way's central bulge might have formed. 2, record 2, English, - central%20bulge

The first clue to the shape of the Milky Way comes from the bright band of stars that stretches across the sky... This band of stars can be seen with the naked eye in places with dark night skies. That band comes from seeing the disk of stars that forms the Milky Way from inside the disk, and tells us that our galaxy is basically flat. 2, record 3, English, - disk%20of%20stars

HST Image of NGC 4261 : A giant disk of cold gas and dust fuels a possible black hole at the core of the galaxy. Estimated to be 300 light-years across, the disk is tipped enough(about 60 degrees) to provide astronomers with a clear view of the bright hub, which presumably harbors the black hole. 2, record 4, English, - bright%20hub
