SIPA creep involves preferential growth of radiation-induced dislocation loops, usually by absorption of interstitials, that are favorably oriented with respect to level stresses. 1, record 1, English, - SIPA%20creep
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The stress-induced preferential absorption creep mechanism observed in Zr alloys is also covered. Irradiation growth, present in crystallographically anisotropic alloys such as uranium metal and Zr alloys that also show pronounced texture, is treated in detail. 2, record 1, English, - SIPA%20creep

1, record 1, French, - fluage%20APIC

Crustal deformation is dominated by dislocation processes. Dislocations are line defects in a crystal (ex: line of missing atoms). Dislocations can move easily at high temperature (say 300°C for quartz). The motion of dislocations in a crystallographic plane is called dislocation glide. Dislocation glide allows deformation of crystals and results in crystallographic preferred orientation. A strong microfabric is typically interpreted as resulting from dislocation glide mechanisms because very few other processes would produce a crystallographic preferred orientation. 2, record 2, English, - dislocation%20creep
