The New Brunswick Weather Centre(NBWC) is located in a downtown Fredericton setting, alongside the scenic Saint John River. The staff of ten shift workers and three day workers deliver a wide variety of weather related and air quality information to its clientele. The Next Generation Weather Radar system(NEXRAD) comprises approximately 160 Weather Surveillance Radar-1988 Doppler(WSR-88D) sites throughout the United States and selected overseas locations.
