3, record 26, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20dynamique

Beyond the understanding of the transition to turbulence... the problem remains of the nature of developed turbulence characterized by an energy cascade from large scale coherent structures where energy is injected to small-scale intermittent structures where it is dissipated(Kolmogorov, 1941). Though a global picture is still lacking, we may hope to gain a deeper insight into this problem by combining recent advances in the theory of space-time chaos with our understanding of dissipative dynamical systems, the first being perhaps more adapted to small scales and the second more relevant for the description of the large scales. 1, record 28, English, - developed%20turbulence

2, record 28, French, - turbulence%20d%C3%A9velopp%C3%A9e

... the dissipative structures that led to life on the planet probably began at the chaotic interface between solid, liquid, and gaseous surfaces where there is flux of high energy. Some scientists speculate that at this chaotic nexus, autocatalytic chemical structures... constituted a form of protolife.... Responding to the far-from-equilibrium environment, the descendants of these first autocatalytic, self-referential, self-similar structures linked together to form a larger structure of feedback loops called a hypercycle. 2, record 29, English, - hypercycle

3, record 31, French, - r%C3%A9gime%20turbulent

The bifurcation to which [this] equation gives rise(...) is called supercritical or normal. The limit cycle is created with a zero amplitude and at the bifurcation point, the system is in a state of marginal stability. This results from the presence of the dissipative term... whose effect... counteracts that of the instability. Consequently, the solution does not undergo a sudden transformation at the bifurcation but changes gradually. This is generally the case whenever the nonlinear terms of lowest order are such as to counteract the instability. 2, record 32, English, - normal%20bifurcation

2, record 32, French, - bifurcation%20supercritique
