Collapse scar bogs are circular or oval-shaped wet depressions in perennially frozen peatland. They originated as perennially frozen peatland and subsequently the permafrost thawed which caused the surface to subside. Surface waters are poor in dissolved minerals because they are not affected by mineral-rich waters in adjacent fens. Characteristic features are :(a) small, wet depressions on perennially frozen peatland.(b) developed entirely in peatland terrain and not in contact with mineral soils.(c) waters poor in dissolved minerals. 3, record 1, English, - collapse%20scar%20bog

3, record 6, French, - pi%C3%A9geage%20min%C3%A9ral
Record number: 6, Textual support number: 2 CONT
4, record 6, French, - pi%C3%A9geage%20min%C3%A9ral

As early as the last century, methods were developed(e. g. Lemberg, 1887, 1888, distinction between calcite and dolomite) in which a mineral is partly dissolved and a particular cation is identified through the addition of a specific reagent and subsequent formation of a characteristically colored complex. 2, record 15, English, - Lemberg%26rsquo%3Bs%20method

For clarification, the difference between "soda water" and "mineral water" during the 19th century was often vague. Soda water is generally considered flavored artificial mineral water, i.e. "regular" water made better with purposeful addition of various compounds and/or flavoring, and of course, carbonation. Mineral water would generally be natural waters from spring sources that were typically highly mineralized with carbonates (alkaline), sulfurous compounds, and/or various salts and often carbonated naturally (they were also sometimes flavored confusing the issue). 1, record 16, English, - artificial%20mineral%20water
