The total magnification results from multiplying the lens magnification with that of the pocket telescope. The modern lenses the mounts of which offer the comforts of the pre-set diaphragm and the automatic diaphragm presetting device and additionally operate as a natural light trap, too, have, however, when used as a magnifier, a distance somewhat too large between front lens... 1, record 2, English, - automatic%20diaphragm%20presetting%20device

Under contract from the Canadian Space Agency(CSA), the Canadian company, Kinetic Sciences Inc.(KSI), developed a proximity sensor that can provide both image features and range data very near to the surface of the sensor. Because the sensor works without using conventional lenses, it reduces the potential for distorting the image... An important need in many robotics systems is to obtain proximity measurements-which establish how close one object is to another-of the features of an object as it is approached at a close range by the finger tips or robot rippers’. In this situation normal visual sensing tends to be obscured, and can prevent the robot from properly grasping objects or completing tasks. What was required and developed by KSI was a ear-touch proximity sensor that could provide detailed information on the distance and orientation of one object with respect to another for objects between 1 centimetre and 1 millimetre away from the finger tip of the robot. 2, record 4, English, - proximity%20sensor

A multifocal lens is a lens that contains two or more different powers or corrections. The most common multifocal lenses are bifocals(two powers) and trifocals(three powers). Quadrafocals, which are four different powers in one lens, are prescribed for special purposes. Another type of multifocal lens, the progressive additional lens, is designed to provide clear vision from far to reading distance without break or interruption. They contain no dividing lines between the different viewing sections. 3, record 5, English, - multifocal%20lens
