A visual acuity test is only one part of a comprehensive ophthalmologic examination. The goal of the visual acuity test is to determine the visual clarity or sharpness of vision of a patient. This is tested using the ability to distinguish different optotypes(stylized letters or symbols) at a standard distance. 3, record 1, English, - visual%20acuity%20test

1, record 1, French, - test%20d%27acuit%C3%A9%20visuelle

The Snellen chart serves as a portable tool to quickly assess monocular and binocular visual acuity.... The Snellen chart uses a geometric scale to measure visual acuity, with normal vision at a distance being set at 20/20. A standard Snellen eye chart is 22 inches wide by 11 inches tall. The numerator represents the distance that the patient is standing from the chart(in feet), while the denominator represents the distance from which a person with perfect eyesight is still able to read the smallest line that the patient can clearly visualize. 1, record 2, English, - Snellen%20eye%20chart

3, record 2, French, - %C3%A9chelle%20de%20Snellen

The Vision Skin sensor is designed to do accurate range sensing and close range imaging in approximately the 1 cm distance range. It utilizes an array of collimated holes as individual parallel pin-hole cameras to perform close range lens-less imaging. When a laser diode is added to the system, triangulation is used to determine the distance of the surface. The sensor can switch between imaging mode and range mode simply with software and lighting control. 2, record 16, English, - Vision%20Skin%20sensor

... Vision Skin provides images and data of objects very close to the sensor surface. It is analogous to heat sensors in the finger tips (which can sense heat when near a hot object without touching it) and the compound eye of an insect (which forms crude images of an object comprised of pixels array in the eye) ... 3, record 16, English, - Vision%20Skin%20sensor

A telephoto is a long-focus lens incorporating some light diverging elements at the camera end. These have the effect of making the lens-image distance less than the focal length would otherwise require. The telephoto is therefore shorter than a lens of conventional design, although it has the same focal length. Both give images of identical size. 5, record 17, English, - telephotographic%20lens
