Moola bandha agit sur le corps périnéal et est donc relié à la base du cerveau dans le plancher crânien. Ce système filtre l'énergie et la redistribue dans les zones cérébrales pour maintenir le cerveau actif et conscient. Il sollicite aussi le système nerveux parasympatique qui apporte de la détente aussi bien au niveau cervical que sacré. L'alternance tension/relâchement provoque aussi une détente plus profonde. Cette contraction a une incidence sur le mouvement du péristaltique intestinal et facilite donc une meilleure évacuation. C'est aussi un exercice intéressant pour soulager les hémorroïdes (stagnation de sang) qui sont une conséquence d'une paresse veineuse.
