Royal Canadian Mounted Police. D. A. R. E.(Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a comprehensive prevention education program designed to equip school children with skills to recognize and resist social pressures to experiment with tobacco, alcohol, other drugs and violence. This unique program utilizes uniformed law enforcement officers to teach a formal curriculum to students in a classroom setting. D. A. R. E. gives special attention to fifth and sixth grade students to prepare them for entry into intermediate and high school, where they are most likely to encounter pressure to use drugs. D. A. R. E. also offers a formal curriculum at the high school level which is a follow-up and re-enforcement of the core training(grades 5 and 6). Also there will soon be a parents program to complement the children's programs. 1, record 4, English, - Drug%20Abuse%20Resistance%20Education

1, record 4, French, - Programme%20de%20sensibilisation%20aux%20dangers%20de%20la%20drogue

Nanomedicine is the application of nanotechnology(the engineering of tiny machines) to the prevention and treatment of disease in the human body. This evolving discipline has the potential to dramatically change medical science. Established and near-future nanomedicine applications include activity monitors, chemotherapy, pacemakers, biochips, OTC [over-the-counter] tests, insulin pumps, nebulizers, needleless injectors, hearing aids, medical flow sensors and blood pressure, glucose monitoring and drug delivery systems. 3, record 6, English, - nanomedicine
Record number: 6, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The chapter on nanomedicine defines the field of nanomedicine and its objectives, keyed to the "biological existence proof" of the feasibility of nanotechnology. Several thought experiments are employed to help the reader develop an intuitive appreciation of time, space, and mechanics in the microworld, where nanorobots will be operating. The goals of biotechnology-based "molecular medicine" are carefully distinguished from the goals of nanomedicine. The evolution of the concept of nanomedicine and cell repair machines is described as the natural culmination of millennia of medical history. The limits of nanomedicine are presented, although by 20th century standards these limits appear, for the most part, quite tolerable and modest in scope. The applicability of the Hippocratic Oath in the nanomedical era is explored. 4, record 6, English, - nanomedicine

Crystal methamphetamine is a colorless, odorless form of d-methamphetamine, a powerful and highly addictive synthetic (man-made) stimulant. Crystal methamphetamine typically resembles small fragments of glass or shiny blue-white "rocks" of various sizes. Like powdered methamphetamine (another form of d-methamphetamine), crystal methamphetamine is abused because of the long-lasting euphoric effects it produces. Crystal methamphetamine, however, typically has a higher purity level and may produce even longer-lasting and more intense physiological effects than the powdered form of the drug. 2, record 7, English, - crystal%20methamphetamine%20hydrochloride

Crystal methamphetamine use is associated with numerous serious physical problems. The drug can cause rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, and damage to the small blood vessels in the brain--which can lead to stroke. Chronic use of the drug can result in inflammation of the heart lining. Overdoses can cause hyperthermia(elevated body temperature), convulsions, and death. 2, record 7, English, - crystal%20methamphetamine%20hydrochloride

Parametric release can be used as an operational alternative to routine release testing for the drug product. Sterility testing for terminally sterilized drug products is one example. In this case, the release of a batch is based on results from monitoring specific parameters e. g., temperature and pressure, during the terminal sterilization phase(s) of drug product manufacturing. These parameters can generally be more measured, so that they are more reliable in predicting sterility assurance than is end-product sterility testing. It is important to note that the sterilization process should be adequately validated before parametric release is proposed. When parametric release is performed, the attribute which is indirectly controlled(e. g., sterility), together with a reference to the associated test procedure, still should be included in the specifications. 1, record 13, English, - process%20parametric%20release%20submission

"L'hyperdynamie" circulatoire consécutive à l'administration de l'hydralazine est susceptible d'aggraver certaines insuffisances cardio-vasculaires. Ainsi, en présence d'une maladie mitrale, le médicament peut provoquer une élévation de la pression dans l'artère pulmonaire.
