Various methods have been published to measure aging processes that occur in ink on documents.... two ink aging methods that analyze ink volatile components(not ink dye components)... have been tested and applied to actual cases by multiple forensic laboratories. These two ink aging methods are the sequential extraction technique(SET) and solvent loss ratio method(SLRM). The SET and SLRM measure certain ink aging parameters of ink that decrease as ink ages on paper. 2, record 1, English, - solvent%20loss%20ratio%20method

1, record 1, French, - m%C3%A9thode%20du%20rapport%20de%20perte%20de%20solvant

An ink using pigments, but typically also using a dye component in the mix to help keep the colours rich and the pigment in suspension. 2, record 3, English, - pigmented%20ink
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Pigmented inks contain other agents that ensure adhesion of the pigment to the surface and prevent it from being removed by mechanical abrasion. These materials are typically referred to as resins (in solvent-based inks) or binding agents (in water-based inks). Pigmented inks are advantageous when printing on paper because the pigment stays on the surface of the paper. This is desirable because more ink on the surface of the paper means less ink needs to be used to create the same intensity of color. 3, record 3, English, - pigmented%20ink

3, record 3, French, - encre%20pigmentaire
