... 30 days earlier seeding does not mean you get a 30 day earlier harvest. It might give you only 10 early days at the end of the growing season. But that 10 days is nothing to sneeze at. Having early crop on some fields lets you harvest them earlier, which reduces risk of frost, hail, wind, insects and other enemies. Early harvests often produce higher grade and they spread the workload. 2, record 1, English, - early%20crop

2, record 1, French, - r%C3%A9colte%20pr%C3%A9coce

In the early days, baseball was an amateur game. But it was so popular and winning became so important, that clubs(the administration) began to offer players money or jobs to join them. The first professional team(meaning the administration) paying all its players openly was the Cincinnati Red Stockings, in 1869. [In both cases, the term "club" should have been used. ] In 1876, the National League was formed with eight teams. 1, record 14, French, - club
Record number: 14, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 14, French, - club

Proteins are degraded on a time scale that ranges from minutes to days. Maintenance of memories that may last a lifetime requires more stable alterations, such as those associated with persistent changes in gene expression. A recently discovered family of genes called immediate early genes(IEGs), which are activated rapidly by brief bursts of action potentials, may provide a crucial link. As expected of master switches that initiate long-term changes in the brain, IEGs encode transcription factors, proteins that regulate the expression of other genes. 1, record 17, English, - immediate%20early%20gene

1, record 17, French, - g%C3%A8ne%20pr%C3%A9coce%20imm%C3%A9diat

In the mid-1950s, daffodils were chosen to decorate the tables at a tea hosted by Lady Eaton in the downtown Toronto Eaton's store to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. The event was so popular that Canadian Cancer Society volunteers in Toronto created an annual Daffodil Day. The Daffodil Tea became an established event in many communities across the province. On Daffodil Day, some restaurants donated part of their receipts to the Canadian Cancer Society and patrons were given a daffodil as a token of appreciation. When restaurant patrons began offering to pay for their daffodils, Society volunteers realized they could raise funds by selling flowers. The following year, volunteers took to the streets to sell daffodils to the general public. An anonymous donor paid to fly 5, 000 blooms from British Columbia, where the growing season starts early. Daffodil sales raised more than $1, 200 in 1957 and became an annual event. Daffodil Day was eventually extended to Daffodil Days--usually from Thursday to the first Sunday in April. Daffodil fundraising now takes place throughout Canada and across North America, Europe and Australia. 1, record 26, English, - Daffodil%20Days

1, record 26, French, - Jours%20de%20la%20jonquille

The ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation has a rich and interesting history. It began in 1935, when the mandate of the ministère des Affaires municipales was broadened to include industry and trade, two sectors of increasing importance to the government. In 1943, the ministère de l'Industrie et du Commerce was founded. Over the years, other mandates were grafted onto its mission : technology in 1988, science in 1994, and external trade in 1996. In 1998, the science and technology mandates were entrusted to the ministère de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, which, in its early days, was charged with devising a scientific policy to bring about a new convergence between universities, industry and government. In 1998, the ministère des Régions was created as a successor to the Secrétariat au développement des régions in order to implement the new policy to support local and regional development, with a view to promoting and assisting the development of the regions and ensuring consistent government action. On April 29, 2003, the Premier announced the creation of the ministère du Développement économique et régional(MDER) out of these four entities. The purpose of the merger was to improve intervention targeting regional businesses and stakeholders by simplifying it and making it more coherent and efficient. In April 2004, "Recherche" was added to the MDER's name. In February 2005, the MDERR was divided into three departments : the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation; the ministère du Tourisme; and the ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions. 1, record 28, English, - minist%C3%A8re%20du%20D%C3%A9veloppement%20%C3%A9conomique%2C%20de%20l%26rsquo%3BInnovation%20et%20de%20l%26rsquo%3BExportation

1, record 28, French, - minist%C3%A8re%20du%20D%C3%A9veloppement%20%C3%A9conomique%2C%20de%20l%27Innovation%20et%20de%20l%27Exportation

norther : The term has several specific applications : 1) In the southern United States, especially in Texas(Texas norther), in the Gulf of Mexico, in the Gulf of Panama away from the coast, and in Central America(norte), the norther is a strong cold wind from between northeast and northwest. It occurs between November and April, freshening during the afternoon and decreasing at night. It is a cold air outbreak associated with the southward movement of a cold anticyclone. It is usually preceded by a warm and cloudy or rainy spell with southerly winds. The norther comes as a rushing blast and brings a sudden drop of temperature of as much as 25°F in one hour or 50°F in three hours in winter. 2) The California norther is a strong, very dry, dusty, northerly wind that blows in late spring, summer, and early fall in the valley of California or on the West Coast when pressure is high over the mountains to the north. It lasts from one to four days. The dryness is due to adiabatic warming during descent. In summer it is very hot. 3) The Portuguese norther is the beginning of the trade wind west of Portugal. 4) Norther is used for a strong north wind on the coast of Chile that blows occasionally in summer. 5) In southeast Australia, a hot dry wind from the desert is called a norther. 3, record 32, English, - norther

The origin of the circular connector can be traced to the early days of the motion picture industry, as studio lighting required a connector that could not be accidentally disengaged. This need was met in 1925 with the introduction of a receptacle and a plug with a mechanical locking ring. Called the "M"(motion picture) Series, it was developed by Robert Cannon, founder of Cannon Electric(now ITT Cannon). The "P"(Paramount Studios) Series was developed for sound cameras in the late 1920's and introduced features still in use today; die cast shells, molded pin inserts and latch locking devices. The "F"(Fox Studios) Series incorporated the familiar threaded coupling ring used on many popular connector series today. 2, record 36, English, - connector%20series

In the early days, both in Canada and U. S. A., non-owned automobile insurance was known as contingent insurance.
