CONT

… the breccia is more likely an intraplatformal cavern collapse feature associated with early dolomitization because : 1) the clasts are surrounded with saddle dolomite and sulfide minerals, not basinal sediments as expected if the clasts were exposed on the seafloor following margin collapse; 2) the megabreccia includes varied dolostone clasts(some fabric-preserving, some not) but lacks clasts of abutting basinal rocks and so cannot be interpreted as a post-Middle Cambrian subsurface diagenetic feature; 3) despite the size of the contained clasts, the megabreccia shows a restricted lateral distribution, not the apron-like geometry of a debris flow deposit; and 4) the megabreccia is directly overlain by non-dolomitized basinal limestone.

CONT

CONT

Late Dolomitization Associated with the Late Movement of Subsurface Waters. The genesis of dolomites that replace limestone in the deeper subsurface is currently explained by two models of fluid-flow that invoke the movement of waters with higher magnesium to calcium ratios in the subsurface. One is related to regional subsurface flow models, or burial-flow models which assume high temperatures for the subsurface fluids... and the other less fashionable model assumes the evaporation of seawater in restricted lagoons and salt flats that produce dense near surface brines that move down into porous and permeable limestones and produce coarsely crystalline "early" seepage reflux dolomites …

DEF

Features supporting relatively early mineralization include... apparent coincidence of some mineralization with predeformational brecciation and dolomitization.

CONT

CONT

Minéralisation antérieure à la déformation.
