The Red River style of log building construction was one of the original methods used in Canada. The logs were left rounded with notched ends. This type of construction consisted of a basic frame of grooved, vertical, squared posts, mortised and tenoned into sills at their bases or set directly into the ground (in rare, early cases), and at their tips, mortised and tenoned into squared plates. Horizontal, squared timbers were fixed between these posts, with the tenons of the horizontal timbers fitting into the vertical groove of the posts. Roof structures of varying types were built on the wall plates. Red River Frame construction allowed both flexibility and portability. Large buildings could be erected using short logs, and buildings could be easily dismantled, moved and put up elsewhere. For these reasons, Red River Frame was the predominant type of construction used in the Canadian West during the fur trade era. The Red River style of log construction has spread across North America and is currently enjoying new popularity. Red River log construction is yet another Metis contribution to the development of Canada. 2, record 5, English, - Red%20River%20frame%20construction

The Royal Irish Constabulary(RIC) was one of Ireland's two police forces in the early twentieth century, alongside the Dublin Metropolitan Police. Londonderry(Derry) and Belfast had had their own forces, but problems, especially their involvement in sectarian violence, saw them both disbanded by 1870, and the RIC assumed their duties. It was disbanded in 1922 and replaced by two new police forces; the Garda Síochána in the Irish Free State(now the Republic of Ireland) and the Royal Ulster Constabulary in Northern Ireland. The force was predominantly Roman Catholic, although there were fewer Catholics in the higher ranks. The RIC' s policing system influenced the Canadian North West Mounted Police when the Canadian federal government was looking for a plausible way to establish order in the North-West Territories. 1, record 21, English, - Royal%20Irish%20Constabulary

The ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation has a rich and interesting history. It began in 1935, when the mandate of the ministère des Affaires municipales was broadened to include industry and trade, two sectors of increasing importance to the government. In 1943, the ministère de l'Industrie et du Commerce was founded. Over the years, other mandates were grafted onto its mission : technology in 1988, science in 1994, and external trade in 1996. In 1998, the science and technology mandates were entrusted to the ministère de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, which, in its early days, was charged with devising a scientific policy to bring about a new convergence between universities, industry and government. In 1998, the ministère des Régions was created as a successor to the Secrétariat au développement des régions in order to implement the new policy to support local and regional development, with a view to promoting and assisting the development of the regions and ensuring consistent government action. On April 29, 2003, the Premier announced the creation of the ministère du Développement économique et régional(MDER) out of these four entities. The purpose of the merger was to improve intervention targeting regional businesses and stakeholders by simplifying it and making it more coherent and efficient. In April 2004, "Recherche" was added to the MDER's name. In February 2005, the MDERR was divided into three departments : the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation; the ministère du Tourisme; and the ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions. 1, record 22, English, - minist%C3%A8re%20du%20D%C3%A9veloppement%20%C3%A9conomique%2C%20de%20l%26rsquo%3BInnovation%20et%20de%20l%26rsquo%3BExportation

1, record 22, French, - minist%C3%A8re%20du%20D%C3%A9veloppement%20%C3%A9conomique%2C%20de%20l%27Innovation%20et%20de%20l%27Exportation

The Acid Rain National Early Warning System(ARNEWS) was one of Canada's national forest health monitoring programs. Established in 1984, ARNEWS was to "monitor the condition and changes in the condition of the forest in order to detect early signs of acid rain damage". The program as always extended beyond its original intent of an acid rain monitoring system to encompass a role in forest health and biomonitoring. In recognition of this, the original network of some 100 plots across Canada was expanded to 169 plots in 1991. 3, record 25, English, - Acid%20Rain%20National%20Early%20Warning%20System

3, record 25, French, - Dispositif%20national%20d%27alerte%20rapide%20pour%20les%20pluies%20acides

Like all amphibians, they had to live near the water since amphibian eggs have no shells and must be laid in the water(or in very damp areas) or they will dry out and die. Fossils of these salamander-sized amphibian have been found in Europe. They were the closest relatives of the lissamphibians. The process of exploring and experimenting with the environment in order to discover the nature of things, people, and events, and the difference between reality and fantasy. Reality testing is a basic, essential process which begins in the early years of life when the child actively tries to find out what the world is like and what he can do with it.... Psychosis, particularly schizophrenia and paranoia, is sometimes defined as an impairment of reality testing. Loss of contact with reality means that the patient has ceased to test his ideas against the outer world. 1, record 40, English, - reality%20testing
