Cognitive reframing of victimization : Self-comparison and emphasizing the positive aspects of having survived. In research on sexual assault victims, Hagemann(1992) noted that some victims feel better by focusing on how they are now survivors. Thompson(2000) noted that sexual assault victims may initially embrace the term "victim" because it shows that the assault was not their fault. As they deal with their experience, they switch to "survivor" because it reflects strength, recovery, and being a fighter. This seems to help some victims regain control over their lives. When dealing with tough situations, people often need to make sense of what happened and then search for some personal benefit, no matter how negative the event was... 1, record 1, English, - survivor

CIHR's institutes are not centralized "bricks and mortar" facilities. Instead, these "virtual" organizations support and link researchers located in universities, hospitals and other research centres across Canada. No one can deny the importance of integrating the community and its inhabitants in the development and planning processes of a renovation project within their neighborhood. Nevertheless, the traditional methods of participatory urban planning often inhibit some of the sections of the community to express themselves and do not allow enough time for the maturing and appropriation of the projects. This scenario calls out for new forms of intervention that embrace the involvement of the inhabitants throughout the entire development process so that a new steadfast culture of public participation may emerge. 1, record 18, English, - participatory%20urban%20planning

Tapis vert, meaning literally a "green carpet", was first coined in the garden at Versailles in 1680 where André Le Nôtre used a mown grass strip punctuated by urns and statues to divide the main axis, the Allée Royale. This became a template for other grand schemes, including George Washington's plan for the landscaping of independent America's new capital. The term tapis vert has come to embrace a wider meaning, encompassing any area of lawn cut in a regular shape. It is also used to describe areas mown at various heights to produce patterns and it is here that the lawn could enjoy a degree of reinvention, assisted by advances in technology-most mowers can be adjusted by the flick of a lever to give various cutting heights. In areas of a modest size, rotary mowers would be ideal for this purpose. 2, record 23, English, - green%20carpet

Brief couples therapy generally lasts between 4-12 sessions and tends to be future oriented, goal-oriented or solution-focused. In the past therapists relied upon traditional depth therapy as a means by which to resolve marital conflicts. Today, many therapists embrace the ideals of solution focused-therapy and avoid psychodynamic issues of the past. 4, record 26, English, - brief%20couples%20therapy

Eco-tourism and adventure tourism are closely aligned but they are often differentiated in two ways. One difference is the degree of risk involved in the activities. Many people, for example, would call a snowboarding holiday more of an adventure than an eco-tourism experience because of the higher degree of risk. Another distinction is linked to the level of motorized transportation involved. Adventure tourism may make use of vehicles such as snowmobiles or helicopters for heli-skiing. While these are common distinctions, there are no hard rules for differentiating the two. Some activities could be labeled as adventure tourism, eco-tourism, recreation and outdoor pursuits at the same time. Indeed, some people may view biking through the mountains as adventure tourism while others might call it eco-tourism because they are out in nature enjoying the spring wildflowers. 3, record 34, English, - adventure%20tourism

2, record 34, French, - tourisme%20d%27aventure

The French declaration mentions situations or facts. The(Permanent Court of Int. Justice) is of opinion that the use of these two terms shows the intention of the signatory State to embrace, in the most comprehensive expression possible, all the different factors capable of giving rise to a dispute. The Court also observes that the two terms «situations» and «facts» are placed in conjunction with one another, so that the limitation ratione temporis is common to them both, and that the employment of one term or of the other could not have the effect to extending the compulsory jurisdiction. 1, record 44, English, - facts%20and%20situations
