Health Canada. The Quarantine and Migration Health Program(QMHP) implements the Canadian Quarantine Act and Regulations, and the World Health Organization's(WHO) International Health Regulations. QMHP helps protect Canadians from the importation of dangerous and infectious diseases which might pose a threat to public health, through the international movements of persons, goods, and conveyances(air planes, trains, buses, automobiles, ships, boats, etc.). To safeguard the health of Canadians, QMHP coordinates Canada's response to outbreaks of international disease. Electronically-controlled pneumatic(ECP) brakes — This braking system is an alternative to conventional air brakes. The system sends electrical signals to the cars, instantaneously applying the brakes(quick response braking) ;it does not rely on the flow of air from the locomotive to each car to activate the brakes. Information is also exchanged between the locomotives and each car. When the system senses that the brake pipe pressure has dropped below 50 psi, a “low brake pressure condition” message is initiated. This message results in all of the ECP-equipped cars and the ECP-equipped locomotives automatically applying their brakes in emergency. 2, record 16, English, - electronically%2Dcontrolled%20pneumatic%20braking%20system

1, record 16, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20freinage%20pneumatique%20%C3%A0%20commande%20%C3%A9lectronique

A ram air turbine(RAT) is a small turbine and connected hydraulic pump, or electrical generator used as power source for aircraft. In some early aircraft, these were permanently mounted and were the aircraft's principal electrical power source. With the exception of crop dusters, modern aircraft only use RATs for emergency use-in case of the loss of both primary and auxiliary power sources the RAT will power vital systems(flight controls, linked hydraulics and also flight-critical instrumentation). Some RATs produce only hydraulic power, that is then used to power electrical Generators. 3, record 42, English, - ram%20air%20turbine

Chest tube insertions are usually performed as an emergency procedure. Chest tubes are used to treat conditions that can cause the lung to collapse, which occurs because blood or air in the pleural space can hamper the ability of a patient to breath. There are four common conditions that can require surgical chest tube insertion, including : pneumothorax(air leak from the lung into the chest) ;hemothorax(bleeding into the chest) ;empyema(lung abscess or pus in the chest) ;pneumothorax or hemothorax after surgery or from trauma to the chest. 5, record 44, English, - chest%20tube%20insertion

Chest tube thoracostomy is done to drain fluid, blood, or air from the space around the lungs. Some diseases, such as pneumonia and cancer, can cause an excess amount of fluid or blood to build up in the space around the lungs (called a pleural effusion). Also, some severe injuries of the chest wall can cause bleeding around the lungs. Sometimes, the lung can be accidentally punctured allowing air to gather outside the lung, causing its collapse (called a pneumothorax). Chest tube thoracostomy (commonly referred to as "putting in a chest tube") involves placing a hollow plastic tube between the ribs and into the chest to drain fluid or air from around the lungs. The tube is often hooked up to a suction machine to help with drainage. The tube remains in the chest until all or most of the air or fluid has drained out, usually a few days. Occasionally special medicines are given through a chest tube. [...] 4, record 44, English, - chest%20tube%20insertion

Displays and Control Module(DCM)... Along the top are switches for power, communications mode selection, caution and warning. There is also a switch that controls the water that is fed to the Liquid Cooling-and-Ventilation Garment. A digital display is used to monitor the various suit circuits. At the top left of this module is an emergency relief valve. If the primary life support system were to ever malfunction, the astronaut would still have access to the secondary oxygen pack. To activate this secondary oxygen pack, all the astronaut would have to do is open a purge valve by squeezing a set of pinchers. This valve releases air pressure on the chest plate-this is the same valve that is used at the end of EVA [Extravehicular Activity] to depressurize the suit. Also on the left, a step down from the purge valve, is the mechanical-suit pressure gauge. Along the right-hand side of the module, are two switches : the ventilation-fan switch and the push-to-talk switch. The ventilation-fan switch can activate and deactivate a fan which circulates air through the helmet and other parts of the suit. The push-to-talk switch is similar to one you would find on a CB [Citizen Band] radio. If the astronaut wants to talk, he has to push the button to be heard, and if he wants to receive voice messages, he has to release the button. On the front of the panel are other controls for volume, temperature, and suit pressure. 2, record 57, English, - display%20and%20control%20module
