Uddiyana bandha is part of the bandhas(locks) family.... The aim of a bandha is to lock certain areas of the body to channel the vital energy(prana) in some very specific directions, so that purification and awakening can occur in the chakras and the nadis(energy channels). In uddiyana bandha, 3 kinds of energy are activated and redirected : apana, prana and samana, respectively located in the lower abdomen, in the chest, and in the center of the abdomen. Uddiyana bandha, when performed with the 2 other bandhas, unites apana and prana in samana, awakening a new type of energy. 1, record 2, English, - abdominal%20lock

1, record 2, French, - verrou%20abdominal

The Protective Energy is the energy responsible for resisting and combating External Pernicious Influences when they invade the body. It moves within the chest an abdominal cavities, and travels between the skin and the muscles. This energy regulates the sweat glands and pores, and moistens and protects the skin and hair.(The Web that has no Weaver, Understanding Chinese Medicine, 1985, p. 39). 1, record 3, English, - Protective%20Energy

A traditional "high-density" storage chest(i. e., at 12-15% consistency) and pump-out arrangement is illustrated in figure 9-56. The stock, usually conveyed from a washer/thickener, is dropped into the top of the chest. The pulp then moves downward as a plug with essentially no intermixing. At the bottom of the chest, a side-entry agitator provides mixing energy and a number of nozzles around the periphery supply dilution water. This arrangement, referred to as "zone agitation", reduces the pulp consistency to a fairly uniform level below 4%, suitable for conventional pumping. Additional dilution water is added at the pump suction for more precise consistency control. 1, record 4, English, - zone%20agitation
