Downy mildew of grape can be a serious disease in ... vineyards. This fungus disease develops whenever weather during the growing season is moist and temperatures are cool to moderate. The downy mildew fungus attacks leaves, fruit, shoots and tendrils. The disease may cause premature defoliation in mid to late summer that results in a weakening of the plant and reduced sugar content of the fruit. 2, record 1, English, - downy%20mildew%20of%20grape
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
On leaves, young infections appear as very small, greenish-yellow, translucent spots that are difficult to see. With time, the lesions enlarge and a white moldy growth composed of fungus threads(mycelium) and spores form on the undersides of the leaves. If lesions are numerous they may merge and cover most of the leaf. Infected leaves eventually turn brown, become dry and drop. Exposed berries may be scalded by the sun. If vines are defoliated before the ripening period, grapes may not mature normally. 2, record 1, English, - downy%20mildew%20of%20grape

2, record 1, French, - mildiou%20de%20la%20vigne

Recent experiments have shown that gene amplification can be mediated by submicroscopic, autonomously replicating, circular extrachromosomal molecules. We refer to those molecules as episomes... The experiments... explore the way episomes are formed and their fate in the cell over time. The data reveal that in our system the episomes are initially 250 kilobases, but gradually enlarge until they become double minute chromosomes. In addition, we show that episomes or double minute chromosomes can integrate into chromosomes. 3, record 2, English, - double%20minute%20chromosome

2, record 2, French, - chromosome%20minuscule%20double

The method of squares enables you to both transfer and enlarge [or reduce] a map at the same time. It is a combination process. If the squares of the transfer grid on the base map and those on the new map are the same size, the scales of both maps will be the same. Let us say they are quarter-inch squares.... But if we use a half-inch square on the new map instead, and keep the square on the base map still a quarter-inch, the new map will have squares whose sides are twice as big as those on the base map.... Likewise we can reduce the scale of the base map by reducing the size of the squares of the transfer grid on the new map. 2, record 4, English, - method%20of%20squares

Vortices generally dissipate or break up in one of three ways : first, over a long period of time, turbulent diffusion can enlarge each wake so that the wakes merge and dissipate; second, disturbances along the length of the vortices become unstable and sinuous oscillations develop which cause the vortices to touch and link together; and third, a sudden structural change known as vortex breakdown or bursting can abruptly widen the vortex care. 1, record 7, English, - vortex%20breakdown

1, record 7, French, - dislocation%20des%20tourbillons
