Less visible on the modern landscape is production [of salt] by evaporation of brine in pots over fires, a technique that leaves "briquetage. "This is a term that archaeologists use worldwide to describe the broken pots used for evaporating brine over fires.... At Sacapulas, brine collected from a spring is poured through salty soil in large containers with holes in the bottom to enrich the salt content of the brine. The enriched brine is then poured into a couple of dozen open bowls elevated above a slow fire on a table inside a building. By continuously pouring brine into the bowls, the water slowly evaporates, and loose salt fills the bowls; the salt is then transferred into a large jar. Sometimes salt is further heated to form solid cakes, in which case the bowls must be broken to extract the salt cakes. 3, record 1, English, - salt%20cake

The term MOX stands for Mixed Oxide and is used to describe any mixture of uranium and plutonium oxides … For LWR [light water reactor] fuel, MOX is formed into fuel assemblies that are very similar to standard LEU [low enriched uranium] fuel assemblies. As with LEU, the MOX is formed into cylindrical pellets, enclosed in zirconium tubes, or fuel rods. The fuel rods are arranged into a rectangular or hexagonal array. A typical MOX fuel assembly will weigh one tonne or more, of which around 500-600 kg will be MOX pellets. 1, record 7, English, - MOX%20fuel%20assembly

Oxyfuel combustion. An alternative is to burn the fossil fuel in pure or enriched oxygen. In such a fashion the flue gas will contain mostly CO2 and H2O. A part of the flue gas needs to be recycled into the combustion chamber in order to control the flame temperature. From the non-recycled flue gas, water vapor can be readily condensed, and the CO2 can be compressed and piped directly to the storage site. 3, record 8, English, - oxyfuel%20combustion

Secondary sulfide zone.-In many metalliferous deposits, particularly those of copper, there is found below the zone of oxidation, a second zone containing sulfide minerals that have reprecipitated from down-trickling solutions containing metals leached from the oxidized zone. This secondary sulfide zone generally marks the change from oxidizing to reducing conditions, such as the level of ground water, at the time of secondary deposition. The zone is often greatly enriched and may constitute economically recoverable ore, whereas the original primary deposit may not. 1, record 17, English, - secondary%20sulfide%20zone
