Tulving introduced the concept of episodic memory in 1972, contrasting it with semantic memory. Episodic memory was assumed to refer to the capacity to recollect individual events, its essence being the capacity to represent a specific event located in time and place. Semantic memory, on the other hand, was assumed to correspond to general facts about the world, with no reference to spatial and temporal context. 3, record 5, English, - episodic%20memory

3, record 5, French, - m%C3%A9moire%20%C3%A9pisodique
