We can use the Hubble constant to make a first guess at the age of the universe [by] simply using the equation : speed=distance divided by time. Subatomic particles have various properties and are affected by certain forces that exhibit symmetry. An important property that gives rise to a conservation law is parity. In quantum mechanics all elementary particles and atoms may be described in terms of a wave equation. If this wave equation remains identical after simultaneous reflection of all spatial coordinates of the particle through the origin of the coordinate system, then it is said to have even parity. If such simultaneous reflection results in a wave equation that differs from the original wave equation only in sign, then the particle is said to have odd parity. The overall parity of a collection of particles, such as a molecule, is found to be unchanged with time during physical processes and reactions; this fact is expressed as the law of conservation of parity. 2, record 5, English, - law%20of%20conservation%20of%20parity

The Palmer Index was developed by Wayne Palmer in the 1960s and uses temperature and rainfall information in a formula to determine dryness. It has become the semi-official drought index. The Palmer Index is most effective in determining long term drought-a matter of several months-and is not as good with short-term forecasts (a matter of weeks). It uses a 0 as normal, and drought is shown in terms of minus numbers; for example, minus 2 is moderate drought, minus 3 is severe drought, and minus 4 is extreme drought. ... The Palmer Index can also reflect excess rain using a corresponding level reflected by plus figures; i.e., 0 is normal, plus 2 is moderate rainfall, etc. 8, record 10, English, - Palmer%20drought%20severity%20index

Palmer Drought Severity Index(PDSI)... compares the actual amount of precipitation received in an area during a specified period with the normal or average amount expected during that same period. Included in the equation are amount of evaporation, soil recharge, and runoff and temperature and precipitation data. 9, record 10, English, - Palmer%20drought%20severity%20index

One important aspect of the physics of stars is the way in which radiation generated inside is transported out-it can alter the temperature and pressure of the star, and affect the distribution of mass within. At the same time, radiation transport affects the excitation and ionization of atoms in the star, which in turn affects the way in which radiation is transported. Ionization also makes extra electrons available, and so radiation transport, and the details of photo-excitation, ultimately has an impact on the equation of state of the star-the relationship of temperature, density and pressure. 2, record 13, English, - radiation%20transport
