An analytical or separation procedure similar to gel electrophoresis. It is used to separate proteins and other charged molecules on the basis of their isoelectric point. 2, record 8, French, - %C3%A9lectrofocalisation

What determines the chemistry of rain and snow? The water comes from evaporation and transpiration(water vapor lost by plants) and is essentially distilled, or pure. Once the vapor reaches the atmosphere, however, it condenses on solid particles and soon reaches equilibrium with atmospheric gases. One of the gases is carbon dioxide(CO2), and as carbon dioxide dissolves in the water carbonic acid(H2CO3) forms. Carbonic acid, being a weak acid, dissociates only slightly in distilled water, yielding hydrogen ions and bicarbonate ions(HCO3-). At normal concentrations and pressures of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere the pH of rain and snow would be 5. 6. 1, record 12, English, - chemistry%20of%20snow

Sulphur species in solution eventually reach equilibrium with the ambient SO2 concentration(further uptake is much diminished and is dependent on the removal of S(IV) from solution usually by oxidation to S(VI)(sulphate), a reaction that generates acidity). In solution SO2(aq) establishes an equilibrium among the S(IV) species SO32-, HSO3[superscript-] and SO2. 1, record 13, French, - esp%C3%A8ce%20S%28IV%29
