6, record 5, French, - an%C3%A9mie%20infectieuse%20des%20%C3%A9quid%C3%A9s

Antigenic shift occurs when major changes in genetic material have occurred. This usually occurs when cells are infected with two different strains of influenza virus at the same time. This co-infection is of concern when it involves viruses from different species(human, avian, swine, or equine). Because of the segmented RNA [ribonucleic acid] in the virus(8 genes) movement of genes from one virus to another are possible. This antigenic shift can then create a new hybrid virus which can become pathogenic to a different species. 1, record 35, English, - hybrid%20virus

3, record 35, French, - virus%20hybride

It is interesting to hear the answers people give to the question, "How do you make your horse strike off into Canter or Lope?" An equine training example of this could be if the rider clicks his tongue just as he feels a young horse about to strike off in canter, and repeats this every time the horse goes into canter, the horse will soon begin to associate the click with the canter transition and produce the canter transition on the click signal. 5, record 69, English, - break%20into%20gallop

Equine Salmonellosis :... Salmonella causes significant disease in horses with a variety of different serotypes. When a culture from a suspect animal has a positive result for Salmonella, some laboratories can further differentiate between different broad serogroups, designated by the letters A-I. Laboratories such as the National Veterinary Services Laboratories(NVSL) in Ames, Iowa can specifically identify the serotype(also known as serovars), such as Salmonella typhimurium, which is a member of serogroup B. 1, record 84, English, - equine%20salmonellosis
