When the new government was appointed in December 2003, it announced a review of all spending on programs and activities to ensure that they were conducted efficiently and effectively. The Commissioner naturally supports the principle of sound management of public resources. Nevertheless, spending reviews of this kind should not lead to setbacks. A study by the Office of the Commissioner conducted on government transformations, resulting from a similar exercise in the mid-90s, showed that the language rights of citizens had been eroded. Found in Wales and Scotland, in England where it borders those two, and in the area around Omagh, Northern Ireland, the Old Red Sandstone is a huge set of sedimentary rocks(primarily brown and red, giving it its name) dating to the Devonian. It is a marine formation, having been laid down from 408 to 370 million years ago as earlier Silurian rocks uplifted by the formation of Pangaea eroded and slid into a body of fresh water(probably a series of large river deltas). They are extremely thick, up to 11, 000 meters in places, and can be subdivided into three categories "Lower", "Middle", and "Upper" from oldest to youngest. As a result, the Old Red Sandstone is a rich source of marine fossils. 4, record 28, English, - Old%20Red%20Sandstone

There are probably dozens of Box Canyons in California; this one is a colourful ravine through the Mecca Hills at the east end of the Coachella Valley in the southeast of the state, 40 miles from Palm Springs. The sides are formed by upturned strata-twisted, buckled and eroded, they stretch for about 8 miles along the canyon, which is part of a metamorphic zone associated with the nearby San Andreas Fault. This runs through the Coachella Valley then southeast past the Salton Sea and affects the geology of a wide strip of land at either side. 1, record 41, English, - box%20canyon

3, record 64, French, - %C3%A9rodable

Precision farming is the wave of the future. Precision farming is any technological development which will help farmers gain a production advantage. It can range from a yield monitor on a combine, to idientifying WIND-BLOWN KNOLLS which can be enhanced with manure applications, to complex satellites which can mark precise locations in a field within centimeters. Precision farming is basically assessing the variability of the soil and then learning to manage the variability to optimize productivity. 1, record 71, English, - wind%2Dblown%20knoll
