Viruses mutate constantly. This is especially true of viruses that contain RNA as their genetic material, such as coronaviruses and influenza viruses.... Every now and then, an error occurs during the virus's copying process. That's a mutation. Most of the time, mutations are so small that they don’t significantly affect how the virus works, or they make the virus weaker... But occasionally, a mutation actually helps the virus copy itself or get into our cells more easily. 2, record 1, English, - mutate

[...] El virus SARS-CoV-2, que provoca la COVID-19, tiende a mutar más lentamente que otros [...] 1, record 1, Spanish, - mutar

The Brandon Humane Society has been in operation since 1946 when it was founded by Eleanor Kidd. She originally housed the shelter in her garage on 13th Street, then in an abandoned stable near Empress Bay, and later in an old barn near the riverbank where Eleanor Kidd Gardens are now located. In 1997, the shelter moved to its new premises at 2200 17th Street East. These days, our residents-both cats and dogs-live in a comfortable building with heat and air conditioning, two large exercise yards, an enclosed cat patio, and enough kennels for 20 cats and 13 dogs. When our kennels are full, our dedicated volunteers foster animals in their own homes. Since this is a no-kill shelter, the atmosphere is very positive... our animals are loved and well cared for as they wait to be adopted. We invite you to come visit us and see for yourself! Our Mandate. The Brandon Humane Society's constitution states that the Society :-has the primary purpose of providing aid and assistance to companion animals,-will accept unwanted companion animals into the shelter when space is available,-will make every effort to find homes for animals in our care,-and will educate the public on companion animal needs, especially the importance of sterilization. 3, record 2, English, - Brandon%20Humane%20Society

Formerly, if there was a scintilla of evidence to support the issues, the judge was bound to leave it to the jury; but now, in every case, it is for the judge to decide whether there is any evidence from which the jury can reasonably find for the party on whom the burden of proof rests. It there is no evidence or a mere scintilla, it is his duty to withdraw the case from the jury and enter judgment for the opposite party. And the test whether evidence only amounts to a scintilla is to assume it uncontradicted, and then inquire whether the jury would be justified in founding a verdict thereon.(Phipson, 13th ed., 1982, p. 765) 1, record 3, English, - scintilla%20of%20evidence
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Scintilla of evidence has been defined as "any material evidence that if true would trend to establish the issue in the mind of a reasonable juror." Other views are that a scintilla of evidence is no evidence or but a spark, gleam, or mere conjecture as distinguished from a reasonable inference. The expression "mere scintilla" of evidence means the least particle of evidence - evidence which, without further evidence, is a mere trifle. "More than a scintilla" may be defined as evidence of probative value having the fitness to induce conviction in the minds of reasonable men. Rowing Canada Aviron(RCA) is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in Canada. RCA was originally founded as "The Canadian Association of Amateur Oarsmen" in 1880 by the rowing clubs then in existence-to coordinate and regulate the sport of amateur rowing. In 1974 the name was changed to "The Canadian Amateur Rowing Association-Association Canadienne d’Aviron Amateur", which is still the legally constituted name, although Rowing Canada Aviron is now used as the operating name. RCA's mission is to provide and manage services and programs for the membership within a fully integrated rowing system model, which furnishes opportunities for every individual to reach his or her potential at all levels of participation. 5, record 4, English, - Rowing%20Canada%20Aviron
