A paraphonic synth can play multiple notes at a time, but only has one voice architecture—in other words, every played note shares the same VCA [voltage controlled amplifier] envelope. This means that you cannot play one note and then trigger a second note while the first note continues to ring out. If you play a second note then either the first note will trigger again, or it will simply stop/end.

... procedural law - it guarantees the efficiency and safety of the machinery through which States conduct their relations -and until this machinery is so established and guaranteed States cannot proceed to evolve law whether by custom or agreement on any other matter.

CONT

Apart from the law-making process by which it was produced, the success of the Vienna Convention [on Diplomatic Relations] depended on two factors. Perhaps the more important is that at all times the real sanction of diplomatic law is reciprocity. Every State is both a sending and a receiving State. Its own representatives abroad are hostages and even on minor matters their treatment will depend on what the sending State itself accords... The second factor, to some extent the result of the first, was the very long stability of the rules of law being codified. By the time these rules were described by Vattel in Le Droit des Gens, published in 1958, they had developed as far as they ever did without the assistance of international agreements, and they remained constant thereafter.

The speed rating... combines three factors in its final figure. The first component is a raw speed rating that directly converts time and distance to a number.(For example, a horse receives one point for every 1/20th of a second it runs at a quarter-mile distance, and a point for every 1/25th at 350 yards.) The number then is modified with an Intertrack Variant(ITV), a number that allows for time and speed variations between tracks.... The third number involved in creating the speed rating is the Daily Track Variant(DTV). The DTV makes adjustments for things such as a slow track, wind, etc., that happen on a day-to-day basis and can even vary between races if conditions change.

CONT

The Ausroc 3(A3) launch vehicle has a liquid fuelled motor that burns JA-1 kerosene with liquid oxygen, and uses regenerative cooling. The motor produces 35 kN at sea level and has a burn time of 80 seconds. The motor is gimballed to facilitate pitch and yaw control. The wall of the combustion chamber, throat and expansion nozzle consists of 102 stainless steel tubes stacked side by side running parallel to the motor axis. The tubes will be brazed together and the assembly wrapped in a carbon fibre composite. The composite wrapping is used to relieve to tubes of the hoop stress generated by the combustion pressure(2 MPa), whilst the tubes contain the combustion heat(3500 K). The top end of the motor has a kerosene inlet manifolt, oxygen dome and injector block. The kerosene inlet manifold delivers kerosene to every second motor tube, where it travels down to the arse end of the motor. Here it enters the lower kerosene manifold which is a simple plenum ring. This allows the kerosene to flow into the other alternate tubes which deliver it back up to the inlet manifold. The inlet manifold then directs the kerosene to the injector block, which sprays it and the liquid oxygen into the combustion chamber.

The "Sun-Mar" three chamber system... The composting chamber. "Sun-Mar" engineers found that the ideal conditions for fast, odorless composting could only be provided in a rotating drum,(we call it the Bio-drum). The Bio-drum is uniquely able to keep the compost completely oxygenated, mixed, moist and warm, and so provide perfect conditions for fast, aerobic(and therefore odorless) composting. Waste enters the composting drum through an entry port located in the top of the Bio-drum. By turning the handle on the front of the unit, the drum rotates, and the compost tumbles,(assisted by a mixing baffle) thereby thoroughly and completely oxygenating and mixing every part of the compost. The Bio-drum is fitted with a door which closes automatically to keep the waste inside as the drum rotates. After turning, a lock automatically maintains the Bio-drum in a top dead centre position ready to receive new material. To ensure that the compost cannot get saturated, a screen at the rear of the drum filters any excess liquid directly into the evaporating chamber. At the same time, by protecting the compost from direct heat, the Bio-drum keeps the compost uniformly moist. Lastly, the Bio-drum has the volume to hold the necessary mass of material to retain the natural heat developed in the core of the compost. Insulation on the outside of the drum prevents heat loss. The warm, moist, oxygen rich conditions in the Bio-drum allow the microbes to quickly break down the waste into its essential minerals. When the drum gets 2/3 full, some compost is extracted into the finishing drawer. This is done simply by pulling the drum lock, and rotating the drum backwards. Now, the drum door remains open, and compost falls into the second chamber;-the compost finishing drawer.

Le système à trois compartiments «Sun-Mar». [...]

[Television and video screen] The number of horizontal lines per second (15,750 hertz in the United States).

OBS

The number of horizontal scanning lines in a field is one-half the total 525 lines for a complete frame, since one field contains every other line. This yields 262 1/2 horizontal lines for each vertical field. Since the time for a field is 1/60 s and since it contains 262 1/2 lines, the number of lines per second is 262 1/2 lines, the number of lines per second is 262 1/2 X 60=15, 750.

In the second half of the nineteenth century... mathematicians began to find all kinds of monster curves that had no unique tangent at any point [...] [Giuseppe Peano] showed how a single point, moving continuously over a square, could(in a finite time) pass at least once through every point on the square and its boundary!(Actually any such curve must go through an infinity of points at least three times.) At the limit, the curve becomes a solid square.
