Permeative bone destruction. The permeative pattern indicates an aggressive bone lesion with rapid growth potential. The lesion is poorly demarcated and not easily separated from the surrounding normal bone. In fact, it may merge imperceptibly with uninvolved osseous segments, creating a zone of transition that is very long. Its true size is larger than that evident on the radiographs. Certain malignant bone tumors, such as Ewing's sarcoma, may demonstrate permeative bone destruction. 1, record 1, English, - permeative%20bone%20destruction

A nonspecific sign of various bone diseases such as Ewing's sarcoma, chondrosarcoma, metastatic carcinoma, syphilis, chronic osteomyelitis, and chronic hemolytic anemia. The sign consists of short or long, fine or coarse periosteal spicules which are perpendicular to the cortex. They may be few in number or form a well developed palisade. 1, record 2, English, - spiculation

Ewing's sarcoma [a malignant tumor of the bone marrow] is classified in a group of round cell lesions because of similar histologic and radiographic features. Lymphoma is another member of this group. Ewing's sarcoma tends to occur in children and young adults, whereas primary lymphoma of bone(usually non-Hodgkin's type) is seen in older individuals. The two entities may be difficult to differentiate. Ewing's sarcoma is of unknown pathogenesis and is highly malignant. 2, record 3, English, - Ewing%27s%20sarcoma
