The Regional Partnerships Program(RPP) was launched in 1996 in response to a decline in funding from the Medical Research Council of Canada(MRC) to health researchers in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Manitoba. This program was expanded in June 1999 to include the provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, as a result of the desire to see the benefit, which the RPP was clearly providing to the existing partner provinces, to the two other provinces where health research activity should be increased significantly. 3, record 1, English, - Regional%20Partnerships%20Program

Le Programme de partenariats régionaux (PPR) a été inauguré en 1996 pour réagir à la réduction du financement offert par le Conseil de recherches médicales du Canada (CRM) aux chercheurs du domaine de la santé de la Saskatchewan, de la Nouvelle-Écosse, de Terre-Neuve et du Manitoba.
