The Exogenous Shocks Facility(ESF) provides policy support and financial assistance to low-income countries facing exogenous shocks. It is available to countries eligible for the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility(PRGF) the(International Monetary Fund) IMF's main instrument for financial assistance to low-income countries but that do not have a PRGF program in place. La facilité de protection contre les chocs exogènes fournit un soutien à la politique économique et une aide financière aux pays à faible revenu qui subissent les effets de perturbations externes. Elle s'adresse aux pays admissibles au bénéfice de la Facilité pour la réduction de la pauvreté et pour la croissance (FRPC) — principal guichet par lequel le FMI (Fonds monétaire international) apporte son aide financière aux pays à faible revenu —, mais qui n'appliquent pas de programme au titre de la FRPC.
