The currently disclosed two-way, by-passable, overrunning clutch may be used as a joint in the limb(s) of a robot. In particular, the knee joint system enables a walking robot to walk more efficiently, with greater stability, and with increased ability to recover from falls. The non-microprocessor mechanical prosthetic knee joint can be split into two parts through the WSC [wrap-spring-clutch] central body. This enables [the] mounting of the joint system on either side of an intact knee or other joint, to serve as an integral component of an exoskeleton or orthotic system. 1, record 2, English, - walking%20robot

3, record 9, French, - exosquelette%20souple

Molting of the outer cuticular layer of the body, as in insects and crustaceans. 3, record 22, English, - ecdysis
Record number: 22, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The process of ecdysis is initiated by a hormone apparently secreted by the thoracic glands which lie behind the brain and close to the oesophagus. The action of this hormone, or possibly of several hormones, is to stimulate the secretion of moulting fluid from glands in the epidermis. This fluid dissolves away the endocuticle, loosening the harder exocuticle and epicuticle which together form the outer layer of the exoskeleton. The insect then contracts its abdominal muscles, increases the blood pressure in the thorax and causes the cuticle to split in the weakest part, usually the mid-dorsal line. The insect emerges leaving the cast-off skin or exuviae behind. After a period of growth a new cuticle is formed. 4, record 22, English, - ecdysis
