Amorphous graphite - this form [of natural graphite] is the product of coal’s thermal metamorphism. It comes in the form of powder. It is also known as meta-anthracite.

OBS

The term "amorphous graphite" is a contradiction in terms. All graphite is crystalline by definition; therefore it is impossible for graphite to be amorphous. However, the term was applied due to the anhedral(no visible crystallinity) morphology of this form of graphite. To the untrained eye a piece of amorphous graphite simply looks amorphous, like a lump of anthracite coal.

This type of lace is made with a needle. It is considered to be the most delicate and precious of all laces. The pattern is first designed on paper, often reinforced with a piece of tissue, on which the design is realized. The design usually represents a rose or some other flower. To start, the lacemaker elaborates the flower's outline with a thicker thread, so to add relief to the work. The next stage is to fill in the interior of the flower design with much finer thread and a variety of different stitches. A fine handkerchief medallion takes three days’ work. To produce larger pieces, all the medallions are sewn together with a thread so fine that it can only be detected by the eye of an expert.

Frame Representation. A frame is a collection of slots and values that is used to represent a piece of knowledge. For example a "person frame" could have slots named : name, sex, age, hair color, eye color, height, and weight. A particular person would then have all the slots filled in with the correct values. Also, most frame-based systems extend this idea to inheritance. For example, a person is an example of a mammal, which has its own slots. A system can then make inferences based on these inherited values(e. g., mammals are warm blooded, therefore "Joe" is warm blooded). Because of the emphasis on CML in Chapter 4, this book sometimes refers to frames as being two dimensional, with rows being individual frames and columns being slots.
