The pulsed plasma thruster(PPT) with solid propellant is used for low power propulsion systems; typically with an average power less than thirty watts. Capacitor stored electrical energy is used to create a pulsed arc discharge across the face of a block of propellant, teflon in most implementations to date. The combination of thermal flux, particle bombardment and surface reactions ablates and ionises a small amount of the solid material... The peak discharge current is high, in the region of tens of kA. The self-induced magnetic field acts on the ions moving in the electric field creating the discharge to create a Lorentz body force that accelerates the plasma. Teflon PPTs have enjoyed limited use in east-west station keeping and sun pointing applications. PPTs do not produce sufficient thrust to be considered as candidates to provide primary propulsion of future out of Earth orbit missions and were not considered for SMART-1.

Air is continually injected, combining with some of the hydrocarbons in the formation to maintain combustion and to provide the thermal energy for the process.

A coin can have as many as five values depending on the context. "Face value", or "nominal value", is the denomination of the coin. "Intrinsic value" is the melt value of the metallic content of a coin and, for gold or silver coins, is usually greater than face value. "Wholesale value" is what a dealer will pay to own a piece for his business for eventual resale. "Retail value" is what a typical collector will pay to own the coin. "Esteemed value" is the highest possible price that a collector might pay for a piece and this price is influenced not just by how rare or non-competitive the coin might be but also by a certain amount of emotion on the part of the buyer. From 5.10 to 5.14, the difficulty indicators are further divided into A,B,C, and D (e.g. 5.10A, 5.10B etc.) with the most difficult climb in the world currently rating a 5.14C/D.

The term "competition climbing" serves to denote the competitive side of sport climbing. It is therefore a narrower concept of "sport climbing" and should be used accordingly even though the former term is still used erroneously even by professional climbers and amateur enthusiasts alike. It would appear that the term "competition climbing" has not yet taken root in the mind of rock climbers.
