Common four-sided shaped wire, such as squares, oblongs or keystone shape, are frequently produced on cold-rolling equipment known as "Turks-head" machine. This consists of four hardened-steel rolls set in planes at right angles to each other. The narrow face of the rolls, as set in the framework, is adjustable on the same plane so that the assembly of the overlapping roll edges facing each other will project the contour of the opening so formed, into the desired shape of the cross-section of the wire to be made. The process wire, of a size somewhat larger than the finished size desired, is pointed and pulled through the Turks-head, being thus rolled to shape and size, after which it is coiled on a regular wire-drawing take-up block. 2, record 8, English, - turks%20head

Twisted nematic : Cigar-like organic molecules form long helical chains when those along one face of the panel are oriented in one direction and those along the other face are oriented at right angles. A polarizing plate allows only ambient light polarized in one direction to pass through. This light is twisted 90 degrees by the helices. A second polarizer on the opposite face, polarized in the same direction as the first one, will block the light, creating a dark display. An applied voltage untwists the helix at a crosspoint, allowing light through and making a bright spot. A plate polarized at right angles will produce a bright display that goes dark at points where voltage is applied. 4, record 9, French, - n%C3%A9matique%20en%20h%C3%A9lice

The pulsed plasma thruster(PPT) with solid propellant is used for low power propulsion systems; typically with an average power less than thirty watts. Capacitor stored electrical energy is used to create a pulsed arc discharge across the face of a block of propellant, teflon in most implementations to date. The combination of thermal flux, particle bombardment and surface reactions ablates and ionises a small amount of the solid material... The peak discharge current is high, in the region of tens of kA. The self-induced magnetic field acts on the ions moving in the electric field creating the discharge to create a Lorentz body force that accelerates the plasma. Teflon PPTs have enjoyed limited use in east-west station keeping and sun pointing applications. PPTs do not produce sufficient thrust to be considered as candidates to provide primary propulsion of future out of Earth orbit missions and were not considered for SMART-1. 2, record 11, English, - pulsed%20plasma%20thruster

bond. The union or tie of the several stones or bricks forming a wall. The bricks may be arranged for this purpose in several different ways, as in English or block bond, where one course consists of bricks with their ends toward the face of the wall, called headers, and the next course of bricks with their lengths parallel to the face of the wall, called stretchers; Flemish bond, where each course consists of headers and stretchers alternately, so laid as always to break joints; Cross bond, which differs from the English by the change of the second stretcher line so that its joints come in the middle of the first, and the same position of stretchers comes back every fifth line; Combined cross and English bond, where the inner part of the wall is laid in the one method, the outer in the other. 2, record 16, English, - bonding
