It has always been a recognized employer's prerogative to fix the hours of work of his/her employees, within certain limits laid down by law. In some jurisdictions, the maximum workweek seems to be an absolute maximum whereby employees may not be permitted to work any hours in excess of those stipulated. In other cases, employees may not be required to work any excess hours, which means that in practice the employees can refuse the overtime work scheduled for them. Some jurisdictions also give employees the right to refuse overtime if they do not receive adequate notice or if they face a personal emergency.

extra duty (or extra work): Refers to an additional work, i.e. an activity which is outside of the normal parameters of an employee’s position, and not to the time spent to excute some work. Common four-sided shaped wire, such as squares, oblongs or keystone shape, are frequently produced on cold-rolling equipment known as "Turks-head" machine. A polarizing plate allows only ambient light polarized in one direction to pass through. This light is twisted 90 degrees by the helices. A second polarizer on the opposite face, polarized in the same direction as the first one, will block the light, creating a dark display. An applied voltage untwists the helix at a crosspoint, allowing light through and making a bright spot. A plate polarized at right angles will produce a bright display that goes dark at points where voltage is applied. Twisted nematic liquid crystal display(LCD).
