MirCorp announces that it has signed an agreement with Rosaviakosmos and RKK Energiva to begin a feasibility study for a small private space station to be launched by 2004. Tentatively dubbed "Mini Station 1", the man-tended facility would be lofted to a coplanar orbit with the International Space Station so that it could be visited for two-weeks stays by replacement Soyuz flights en route to the ISS.

[A form of compensation agreement that] allows a small power producer-such as a residence or farm with a micro-hydropower, wind turbine or photovoltaic system-to connect to the power grid to offset the purchase of electrical energy from the utility with the surplus energy generated by the on-site generating facility.

Net-metering does away with the need to install costly backup generators or batteries to supplement a small renewable system. A single meter measures the electricity purchased from the utility and turns backward when the small power producer feeds electricity into the grid. The net-meter measurement determines the amount of electricity charged to the user.

This is an agreement between Suncor and TransCanada Midstream to extract and separate natural gas liquids(NGL) and olefins from "off-gas", a byproduct of the oil sands upgrading process that is currently used as a fuel. The recovered liquids and olefins will be transported in batches... to Alberta fractionation facility for further processing... The plant, which is scheduled for commissioning in 2001, will extract ethane, propane, butane, condensate, ethylene, propylene and butylene from the off-gas.

EDC [Export Development Corporation] has signed the extension of a $288 million(US$200 million) credit facility with the Bank of China. This agreement will facilitate the financing of sales of Canadian capital equipment and services to Chinese buyers in a variety of sectors. EDC has maintained a credit facility with the Bank of China since 1979, and the Bank of China remains one of EDC' s prime borrowers in China.
