The analytical electron microscope(AEM) is based on a conventional 200 keV transmission electron microscope(TEM) which has been augmented to include the functions of a scanning transmission electron microscope(STEM) and the scanning electron microscope(SEM). Since the electrons must penetrate through the specimen, the specimen dimensions must be no greater than 1 micrometer thick, and preferably in the range of 100 nm. Bulk specimens may be thinned to this range by a combination of mechanical, chemical, and ion sputtering techniques, all of which are available in the microanalysis laboratory. As an imaging tool, the AEM is capable of 0. 3 nm spatial resolution in the TEM mode, 1 nm resolution in the STEM mode, and 3 nm resolution in the SEM mode. Elemental microanalysis is carried out by means of energy dispersive x-ray spectrometry(EDS) and electron energy loss spectrometry(EELS), which together provide sensitivity to all elements with atomic number > 2. Quantitative analysis is carried out by means of a relative sensitivity factor method based on glass, mineral, and metal alloy standards. 2, record 11, English, - analytical%20electron%20microscope

2, record 11, French, - microscope%20%C3%A9lectronique%20analytique

The job component method is a statistically developed job evaluation method which relies on scored questionnaires, multiple regression analysis and factor analysis. Employees complete a standardized questionnaire which either identifies the behavioral components of the job or the task based components of the job. The incumbent indicates for each task or behavior, the importance of the category and the frequency of perfomance. The questionnaire is input into a computerized mathematical model and a job score is determined. 1, record 17, English, - job%20component%20method

Angular amplitudes and rates, and linear accelerations were measured with a six-axis-gyroscope. High-frequency vibrations were characterized with a triaxial accelerometer. Additional measurements from an onboard gyroscope with better resolution were used as a correlation factor between the two gyroscope systems. Fourier analysis of angular amplitudes and linear accelerations determined relevant frequencies for the system. Sources of error for the gyroscope system such as temperature drift and axes misalignment were identified and characterized. 2, record 18, English, - platform%20axes%20misalignment

The primary technique used for checking the inconsistency of precipitation data has been a double mass analysis. In this technique the accumulation at a given station is plotted against the average accumulation for a group of stations. When the number of stations in the group is reasonably large, the accumulation of the group average should be quite stable. Thus, if there is a change in the relationship between a single station and the group at some point in time, it is likely that there has been a change in the precipitation measured at that station. This deviation can be removed by multiplying a portion of the record at that station by a factor that will produce a generally straight line relationship. 2, record 20, English, - double%2Dmass%20analysis

... hand held weather stations take about every weather factor into consideration.... Very sophisticated ones not only measure weather conditions every second but make E. T. or throttle stop predictions every 4 seconds. A sophisticated drag racing weather station will allow you to store data on as many as 256 previous runs and performs an analysis to give you a prediction based on the weather conditions instantly. It can keep and use separate databases for separate vehicles, tracks, or classes. Some of the really sophisticated stations have a prediction deviation function [which] gives a reliability value of the prediction. It gives you a margin of error based on the information in the database that you chose. The Kestrel line of wind meters or anemometers ... in less than 60 seconds, provide the answer to the major spraying season question that haunts producers each morning: "How windy is it?" The Kestrel 1000 ... gives a fast answer to wind speed average and gusts. ... the model 2000 will add temperature and for those really cold days on the sprayer, add wind chill to that list. The 3000 adds humidity, dew point and heat stress index ... . But for an all out weather station you can hold in the palm of your hand, the Kestrel 4000 provides all of this, in addition to wet bulb, altitude, air density and barometric pressure. Most importantly, 250 of these readings can be recorded in the device’s memory and later transferred to the farm computer. ... Michael Naughton of Nielsen Keller-man said the company released the 1000 in 1999 with the intention of it being a tool for sailors and outdoor sports and weather enthusiasts. "Farmers are turning out to be a really big part of our business. The 4000 is really popular with them. The exposure matrix was developed to account for job, plant, and era dependent differences in TCDD [2, 3, 7, 8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin] exposure. The TCDD exposure estimates are based on(1) the concentration of TCDD in micrograms per gram present in process materials;(2) the duration of exposure to TCDD contamination, expressed as a fraction of a work day; and(3) a qualitative contact factor(0. 05-1. 5) to account for the extent of worker contact with the TCDD contaminated material. These three factors are multiplied together to yield a daily TCDD exposure score. The sum of the daily exposure scores constituted an individual' s cumulative exposure score. Daily TCDD exposure scores range from 0. 001 to 1250. Cumulative TCDD exposure scores are distributed from 0. 002 to 1, 651, 611 exposure score days. In discounted cash flow analysis, the present worth of the domestic currency cost of realizing a foreign exchange saving divided by the present worth of the net foreign exchange saving. A project is accepted if the domestic resource cost is less than the official exchange rate in financial analysis, or less than the shadow exchange rate(or the reciprocal of the standard conversion factor) in economic analysis. An exact analysis of the bifurcation points in the Verhulst process reveals a law of basic importance for nonlinear phenomena. This concerns the lengths of the parameter intervals in which a particular period is stable.
